We consider the best TV series of the year "Chernobyl" - a five-part project of the HBO channel, dedicated to the tragedy of 1986. The plot of the series recreates the events associated with the disaster itself and the elimination of its consequences.
The authors of "Chernobyl" tell about real people such as Valery Legasov and Boris Shcherbina, sometimes using even documentary recordings. But they complement the action with artistic inserts and fictional characters.
"Chernobyl" showed that real events can be worse than any horror movie, and attempts by politicians to keep silent about tragedies sometimes lead to a huge number of human victims.
The project became one of the winners of the 2019 Emmy Awards, picking up awards in the categories Best Miniseries, Best Directing Miniseries and Best Screenplay for Miniseries.
