Habits are what shape our character and lifestyle. And all of us, at least once in our life, tried to get rid of bad habits and find new ones. Quit smoking, drinking, eating before bed, biting nails - each of us tried to achieve this. But not everyone succeeds. Why?

The most popular answer is lack of willpower. Or maybe it's not about willpower, but about approach and knowledge? Just take a look at the one that detailed all the lessons he learned in eradicating old habits and forming new ones. And, as if reading Babauta's article, developer Scott Dunlap decided to create a Habit List application that will help in the difficult task of changing yourself for the better.

Habit List is an iPhone app that contains everything you need to create good habits and eradicate bad habits. It helps you stay focused, stay focused, and see detailed statistics. But first things first.

The home screen is a list of all the habits, good and bad. First you need to enter all your habits, indicate their frequency (every day, every two days, weekly) and set reminders if needed.

The frequency can be flexibly configured, both independently and using the built-in intervals. Reminders can be turned on or off as desired. Some habits, such as "Quit Smoking", do not need reminders. However, I decided to set a reminder to my habit of "Vocal Hour". It's safer this way.

If you are ashamed of your habits or just do not want to show them to strangers, then you can set a password. You can also turn on a daily reminder to log into the app and mark your daily progress.

The app supports exporting data, albeit lame. It was worth implementing Dropbox or iCloud support, perhaps in the future. And, of course, the choice of the font. I settled on Helvetica Neue.

It seems to me that if a person has decided to change himself for the better, then the application will not help him in this. This is why I am skeptical about this kind of application. However, I decided to give him a chance and see what happens.

The app costs $ 2.99, and it's up to you whether it's expensive or not for this functionality. Keeping track of all your habits on a daily basis is only a small part of working on yourself. But perhaps this is what you lacked to turn your life around and make it better.
