More than 500,000 gamers from all over the world chose the winners in various nominations.

The annual South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival in Austin, Texas has presented awards for excellence in the video game industry.

Game of the Year - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

A striking RPG hit from Nintendo with a huge open world to explore and extensive interaction with game objects. The game will be controlled by a character named Link, who has lost his memory and woke up after a 100-year sleep. The game was released only for Switch and Wii U consoles.

Other awards: Best Game Design, Best Gameplay.

Best VR Game - Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

A true first-person horror film in which you have to enter an abandoned mansion of a family of cannibals in search of your missing wife. Exploring the house, you will have to solve various puzzles, search caches and, of course, engage in battles with terrible monsters.

Best Multiplayer - PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS

Massively multiplayer online battle royale game where only one team or one out of hundreds of players will survive. The battle takes place on a huge map available for research and search for means of survival.

Best Visual Design - Horizon: Zero Dawn

Role-playing game with a unique open world in which humanity is on the brink of extinction. The pinnacle of the evolutionary chain was mechanical beings out of control. To cope with them and find out all the secrets of this world is up to the hunter Aloy, whom you will have to control.

Best Media Franchise Game - Star Wars Battlefront II
