If it seemed to you that Pokémon GO is an aimless adventure game with monsters and special effects, then this is not so. In fact, this game has a rather complex and well-oiled gameplay, abundantly flavored with Easter eggs, tricks and unexpected surprises. Here's what we have learned so far.

Finding and capturing Pokémon

• Leaves flying up indicate that Pokémon are hiding somewhere in this place.
• On the screen in the lower right corner, images of Pokémon that are hiding nearby are shown. The approximate distance can be determined by the number of tracks near each of them. It has been experimentally established that one track is equal to about 40 meters.
• On the capture screen, the color and size of the circle around the monster matters. The smaller it is, the more successful the throw will be. Green color means easy prey, yellow one will have to work hard, and red circle denotes Pokémon that are almost impossible to catch.
• If you missed and your pokeball has not yet rolled off the screen, then quickly tap on it. This will allow you to re-cast and save discs.
• You can do twisted throws. To do this, hold down the pokeball, then make a few circular motions with your finger and only then throw. For this you will receive additional points.
• The higher your level, the more rare and powerful Pokémon you will come across.
• The time of day affects the behavior of Pokémon. If you go for a walk in the evening, you can catch rare night monsters.
• Even if you have caught a large number of identical monsters, do not stop doing it anyway. For this you get experience, candy (Candy) and stardust (Stardust). Extra Pokémon can always be handed over to the professor for a reward.

Gyms and Pokéstops

• To join the faction and get into the Gym, you need to reach at least the fifth level.
• The choice of faction does not matter. In any case, large functional differences between the fractions have not yet been revealed.
• Empty Gyms are grayed out. You can take any of them and leave one of your Pokémon there. One!
• Fighting in your faction's Gym boosts your Pokémon and increases the prestige of that Gym. Fighting in an alien faction's Gym reduces prestige. When it reaches zero, the faction will lose control of this place and you can take it.
• From each Gym in which your Pokémon is present, you receive a profit: 500 units of stardust and 10 coins per day.
• PokéStops recharge every 5 minutes.
• To collect the prizes dropped from the rotating disc of the PokéStop, it is not at all necessary to tap on each of them. Just close this screen, and all bonuses will automatically appear in your inventory.

Battles

• In battle, you can use several techniques. A quick tap on the enemy causes a quick attack. A long tap allows you to use a super strike. Swiping left or right allows you to dodge attacks.
• Fighting in your faction's Gym cannot disable your Pokémon. If you win, you get experience points.
• Defeat an alien faction in the Gym disables your monsters. You can revive them and restore their strength only with the help of special items from your backpack - Potion and Revive.

Eggs

• Eggs sometimes drop out of PokéStops. Eggs often hatch the rarest and most powerful Pokémon.
• To hatch a Pokemon, the egg must be placed in an incubator (one is in the inventory by default). Next, you need to go the distance indicated near each egg.
• Only the distance covered by foot is counted, the bike and car are not suitable. The Pokémon GO app must be active while walking.

Tips for saving traffic and battery

• Pokémon GO uses the Google Maps API to locate your location, allowing you to significantly reduce your mobile traffic. Just open the Google Maps app on your smartphone and save your city map for offline use. Now Pokémon GO will be able to load maps from the cache, which will not only reduce the amount of data transferred, but also increase the speed of the game.
• Some users complain that the game drains the battery too much. However, this is not surprising, because Pokémon GO keeps the screen always on, determines the location, transmits and receives data, uses the camera and gadget sensors. To reduce power consumption, activate Battery Saver in the game settings. This will make it possible to turn off the screen the moment you lower your smartphone. You can also turn off the music here, since playing it also consumes battery power.
