You no longer have to manually turn off the sound on every new site with annoying video ads.
In February, Google added the ability to completely block audio on select sites in Chrome. This feature is very useful, but not ideal: it does not allow you to get rid of sound on all web resources in one fell swoop. The AutoMute extension solves this problem.
After installing the extension, the sound in each new Chrome tab will be automatically blocked. If you want to hear a particular site, for example YouTube, you can add it to the exceptions. Moreover, it is possible to add a separate page of a resource to the exceptions.
AutoMute has only one small drawback - the extension does not work in conjunction with the browser's own function, which allows you to mute the sound on sites. You can't just click on a tab to put the audio stream back in place. Instead, each time you have to click on the extension icon in the upper right corner of the program.
