Four microphones, fast charging and transparent mode for those who don't want to splurge on AirPods Pro.
At the end of 2019, Jabra launched the new Elite 75t compact headphones. The first owners gave them extremely high marks: for example, in the CNET review they noted the Jabra Elite 75t review: Better sound than the AirPods Pro that the new product “sounds better than the AirPods Pro”. The life hacker figured out whether the new headphones are so good, why they should be loved and what details to approach with skepticism.
Neat appearance
In addition to the gold-plated metal headphones themselves, the box contains a charging case, a USB Type-C cable and two sets of silicone earbuds - the third are attached to the accessory. By default, there are tiny S, but it is better to immediately rearrange it to M so that the model does not fall out of the ears. Dark silicone earbuds are quite easily soiled: even the slightest dust is noticeable on them.
The charging case resembles the AirPods Pro case, but that is where the external similarities with Apple products end. The headphones are much more similar to their predecessors - the Elite 65t model. However, the 75t came out more compact. In addition to the good looks, the gadget has a nice filling: there are four microphones inside at once for better and more realistic sound during calls.
The lid of the case snaps into place with a magnet, the headphones themselves fit tightly into the case, so it won't be easy to lose crumbs.
Small, light and neat - in terms of design, the Elite 75t is excellent.
Controls to tinker with
Each earphone has a button responsible for control. With their help, you can receive and drop calls, play music and pause it, switch tracks and listen to them on repeat, adjust the volume and call the voice assistant. For all this, you need to remember the combination of clicks, which, however, is not difficult to master.
The button on the left earphone turns on HearThrough, a transparent mode that allows you to catch ambient sounds while the track is playing. There is also a Sidetone function - thanks to it, you will hear your voice more clearly during a phone call.
Be sure to download the Jabra Sound + app. It will allow you to customize the headphones for yourself even in the smallest details, and not only the equalizer, but also the sound quality during a call. In addition, it can detect your device if you lose a tiny earpiece in your bag or room. There is also an option "Sound Landscape" - what you need to work in the office. You can include the sound of waves, quiet thunder, the sound of a fan, or the hum of a crowd in the background.
The earbuds connect to devices via Bluetooth and support version 5.0. We managed to find rapport with an Android smartphone faster than with iOS. The model can work with voice assistants Siri, Google Assistant and Alexa.
Decent bass
Even if you don't torture the EQ, the Elite 75t sounds decent, though not too loud, so get ready to add your favorite tracks all the time.
The headphones have unexpectedly confident bass. The fact is that by default the sound is tuned to the low frequencies. Mids and highs sound good, but no fireworks. These are just good quality headphones, but whether they can outrun the AirPods Pro in quality is a big question. However, if you like listening to something heavier, then the Elite 75t may appeal to you better.
Talking with headphones is more than comfortable, however, even here the volume is not enough all the time and you have to constantly increase it. I especially want to do this on the street. The Elite 75t does not have active noise cancellation, but the passive one is good at drowning out the hum of the metro. Transparent mode works great: you can really pick up external sounds, but they do not interfere with your music.
Everyday accessory
The Elite 75t has a comfortable flowing shape, the model fits easily into the auricle and does not press too much. But do not rush to rejoice: if you do not change the standard silicone tab, the earphone can easily fall out even at the most unexpected moment when you are not doing active sports. This happened to us during a trip to the subway and a lazy walk down the street. The problem was solved by changing the liner.
The model is dustproof, splash-proof and overall looks quite sturdy.
The earbuds can last 7, 5 hours without recharging and 28 hours if you periodically throw them into the case. There is a fast charging function: 15 minutes at the outlet will allow you to listen to music for another hour.
Should I take it?
The Elite 75t is a great headphone without the wah effect, although the powerful bass is certainly commendable. The fast charging function, transparent mode and convenient control only add pluses to the Jabra piggy bank. Of the minuses, we note the periodic falling out of the ear, insufficient volume and easily soiled black earbuds (if you really dig).
These are very decent headphones for 12,890 rubles: compact, lightweight and comfortable in everyday life. And it is quite possible to close your eyes to little things.
