The most romantic movie comic strip

This is not the first time that Marvel has been very wise in ordering the release of its paintings. After the pretentious spring "Age of Ultron" and "Infinity War", in the summer they released films about Ant-Man - light comedies with crime. It defuses the atmosphere of the cinematic universe and allows viewers to just have fun instead of looking for flaws.

Now, after the most ambitious crossover, the studio is again showing a light summer blockbuster, close in spirit to teenage travel comedies. The first half of "Far From Home" is even built according to the standards of this genre: children go on a trip, the main character wants to explain himself to his beloved, but something interferes with his plans over and over again.

The relationship between Peter Parker and MJ is the cutest thing in the film, this touching absurdity of shy teenagers makes you forget about all superheroics for a while and just watch the characters. Tom Holland and Zendaya got used to the role perfectly and once again justified the title of the most promising young stars.

Of course, Holland gets a little lost in shared scenes with Jake Gyllenhaal or Samuel L. Jackson, but it's hard to blame him for that. And the roles are distributed very correctly here: despite the past, Parker looks like a newcomer in the company of more experienced mentors.

The rest of the students play weaker, but they are here for the background. Bully Flash Thompson rarely flickers, instead of him handsome Brad interferes with Peter. Ned and his new girlfriend are in charge of the comedic component of the story.

In general, there are a lot of jokes in "Far From Home": this is typical teenage humor, and jokes about the use of superhero technologies in the life of a young man, and Marvel's self-irony on the topic of comic book stereotypes.

And all this is in the excellent surroundings of European cities. Of course, the scale of Spider-Man's story cannot be compared with The Avengers, but it does not even try to do it - there is no space and hordes of villains, but there are beautiful landscapes of Venice, Prague, Berlin and London with stylized national music.

An important place in the universe

At the same time, one should not think that after the globality of the "Final" Marvel decided to simply entertain the audience and forgot to finish the main story. Unlike all the same "Ant-Man", which developed independently almost in isolation from other events, the Spider line is inextricably linked with previous films.

Therefore, it was on “Far From Home” that a heavy burden was laid - to explain the controversial moments of the “Final”. Even the first minutes of the film remind of the loss of the MCU and tell what has changed during the five-year absence of half of the people.

The background to the main action here and there appears clues about how people live now, how the whole world will develop. And of course, who will take the place of the retired superheroes.

Tony Stark invisibly flashes through the entire film, right down to the very touching references in the soundtrack. From "SHIELD" appears not only Nick Fury himself, but also Maria Hill - Cobie Smulders for the first time in many years was allowed to play normally in the MCU, and not just say a couple of phrases.

"Far From Home" constantly refers to previous films, and sometimes in the most unexpected ways, helping to recall subtle storylines from paintings a decade ago. But at the same time in everything it is felt that the authors do not want to mark time.

For this, hints at some heroes that have not been revealed before are responsible. And of course, the appearance of one of the brightest new characters - Mysterio performed by Jake Gyllenhaal. The actor has been waited for in the MCU for a long time, but now there is no doubt - he was chosen the ideal role, and even his appearance was beaten completely unpredictably.

The Finale was a point in the main story. “Far from home” is the way forward, and some moments create an excellent seed for the future, making you eagerly await at least some information about the fourth phase.

In this film, both post-credits scenes are important for the further plot, so they must be watched. And one of them will definitely cause incredible delight among all Spider-Man fans.

Another fact makes you feel the departure of an entire era: this is the first movie in the MCU to not feature Stan Lee's cameo. And this is not a spoiler, but a sad truth. When filming began, the legendary author was still alive, but due to health problems he could not work. But it was Spider-Man that he always called his favorite character.

Deception is all around: beware of spoilers

The plot of "Far From Home" consists not only of self-irony and references. There are some great twists and turns here. Moreover, even comic book connoisseurs who can predict the main twist will not know exactly how this will happen.

By the way, comics are also constantly referred to, and with a considerable amount of self-irony. This also applies to the construction of the multiverse, which was already mentioned in the trailers, and the classic costumes of the heroes, and many other canon moments.

Once again, Marvel is not trying to film graphic stories, but only takes them as a basis, transferring the action to a more real and closer world to us. Therefore, from a certain moment there is no doubt: if a question arises about the logic of what is happening, sooner or later it will be answered.

They will even figure out the eternal problems of movie comics. Why haven't the rest of the Avengers been called? Why are computer graphics villains again on the screen without any motivation? How does no one notice that Peter always escapes before Spider-Man appears? And they again deal with these topics very lightly and with humor, discharging any pretentious scene with good jokes.

Unlike Guardians of the Galaxy, and the first part of Spider-Man, here the plot twists are really important and create the mood. Therefore, the less you know about the events of the picture before viewing, the more interesting it is. You shouldn't even get carried away with promotional materials - all kinds of trailers and excerpts that show too much.

Spider web flying and action

In terms of movement, Spider-Man has always been one of the most interesting superheroes. Despite the fact that he cannot fly, the character mostly does not move on the ground. Therefore, in the films about the Spider, the volume and the surrounding space have always been important. And the current budgets, along with the development of special effects, make the action with this hero truly unforgettable.

Fighting next to Mysterio, walking on rooftops, flying on spider webs - all this creates a real drive. Moreover, the aforementioned entourage of European cities does not allow the action to become too toy, as it happened in the 2002 film - the size of the houses and the weight of the falling stones are felt.

Sometimes the action goes into a real psychedelic, reminiscent of the recent cartoon "Spider-Man: Into the Universes". And at these moments from the graphics and flicker, you can even get dizzy, but this is exactly what was intended, since the hero experiences exactly the same emotions.

So even if in the first half of the film the action seems too stereotypical and simple, the second part will please with the operator's decisions, the speed of the action, and the emotional intensity.

Probably, "Spider-Man: Far From Home", like all the latest films from Marvel, does not work well if you watch it in isolation from the rest of the films and know only the events of the previous story about Peter Parker. But the studio has long been shooting projects on the principle of serials - fans of not an individual hero, but of the whole universe go to watch them.

And for them the film will be one hundred percent successful. A slight naivety completely removes the desire to find fault with the plot, and an excellent action game is complemented by love stories and humor. Exactly what you need for a summer blockbuster.
