Indian naan with curd filling is not just an alternative to bread, but a full-fledged mini-lunch that can be served in the company of various sauces and take with you. These tortillas are filling and rich in protein and carbohydrates.

Ingredients

For the test:

  • 3 cups (360 g) flour
  • 1 cup (240 ml) water
  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons dry yeast;
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt.

For filling:

  • 300 g of cottage cheese;
  • 100 g of brine cheese;
  • 1 sweet pepper;
  • a handful of cilantro greens;
  • chili flakes - to taste;
  • zest of ½ lime;
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cumin;
  • salt to taste.

Naan is a lean cake made from wheat flour with or without yeast. We will focus on the first option, since yeast cakes are softer and more airy.

Mix all the dough ingredients together until you get a smooth, sticky and very pliable mass. Cover it with plastic wrap and leave warm for an hour.

During this time, make the filling. The ingredients listed above can be safely supplemented. For example, finely chopped red onions, aromatic herbs, ginger, garlic, various vegetables.

Squeeze the cottage cheese through cheesecloth, add grated brine cheese like feta cheese and the rest of the ingredients to it. Knead the filling well, adding salt to taste.

Divide the soft dough into 6-8 pieces (depending on the desired diameter) on a floured surface.

Stretch each serving by hand into a small disc, place about two tablespoons of the filling on top and pinch the edges, collecting the dough into a bag.

Flatten the cake by lightly pressing on it with the palm of your hand. Then turn it over and carefully, without much pressure, walk over it with a rolling pin, rolling it into a disk 8–10 cm in diameter.

Fry the resulting tortillas in a greased skillet for 2 minutes on each side. The fire should be medium.
