In two weeks of using Apple Music, I saw its good and bad sides. The peculiarity of the service is that it is extremely overloaded and functional. Therefore, here are some tips to help you get the most out of Apple Music.

When I used Spotify, it seemed to me that it was no more difficult to do. But then there was the Apple Music streaming service with six tabs, on each of which you can find new music. Here are some of the chips I found.

1. Music can be downloaded offline and on a computer

This is one of the most important functions for me. Since high-speed mobile Internet is still available to me only in theory, I can only listen to music via the Internet at home. This means that you need to always have a dozen albums in stock. So I do, but now not only on a smartphone, but also on a laptop. The iTunes client for OS X and Windows can also download music offline. To do this, add the album to My Music, right-click and select Make Available Offline.

2. Service recommendations leave much to be desired

I practically stopped going to the "For you" tab. I could not give the service to understand what I need from it, so I don’t even look through most of the offers. On the other hand, the radio and curated selections are great. I advise you to look for new music there.

3. Celebrate what you don't like

To improve recommendations, you can not only like songs and albums, but also mark those that you don't like. To do this, on the "For you" tab, hold your finger on an album or playlist and note that you do not like this recommendation.

4. Connect can be disabled

Here we talked not only about how to turn off the social music service Connect, but also how to remove the Apple Music interface altogether. And if the last solution seems to me redundant, then I have nothing against removing Connect: the service is not particularly useful yet. After deleting, its place on the "Music" application panel will be taken by the "Playlists" tab.

5. Playlists should not be downloaded offline

Most of the time, I listen to music in the "My Music" tab. And if you download at least a few playlists, then a dozen artists will appear in the media library, each of which has only one song. In such a mess, it is difficult to find what you wanted to listen to. Therefore, so far I have not found a better solution than adding playlists to "Music", but not downloading them offline. After that, you need to enable the display of only offline music, and unnecessary performers will not be visible.

6. If you've used Spotify, your library is still there

It can be migrated using the StAMP utility. The free version only allows you to transfer 10 songs at a time. Therefore, there are two ways out: either start syncing again every 10 songs, or pay $ 5.

7. You can change your tastes in the future

If you think that by specifying your tastes at the beginning of using the service, you cannot change them, then you are mistaken. By clicking on the user icon in the Music application, you can open the tab with your preferences and click on the circles with genres again. By the way, two clicks on the circle of the genre increase its significance.

8. Music can be set on the alarm ringtone

Another plus of the Apple Music subscription is that you have an almost unlimited library of alarm music. To set a song to an alarm clock, you need to add it to My Music and download it offline. Then go to the "Clock" application, select the desired alarm clock and set a ringtone.

9. Music can be turned off remotely

Unlike Spotify, Apple Music playback cannot be remotely controlled. And if, for example, I turn on the music on the computer and want to turn it off or change the track remotely, I cannot do this. Perhaps this is a flaw, but if you start music on another device, then its playback on the first one will stop. In extreme cases, in this way, you can turn off the music remotely.
