Lifehacker and cashback service have compiled apps for Mac to help you work with mail, take notes, record screencasts and manage time.
Spark
It took a year to build the Mac version of Spark Readdle, but the app is great. Smart sorting of letters depending on their importance, advanced search, quick replies, convenient customizable gestures and other features familiar and loved on the mobile version. Lightweight, minimalistic design and full sync with iPhone are also in place.
Bear
There are plenty of decent writing and note-taking tools out there in macOS, but another one has been added this year. Bear has a very cool design that makes you fall in love at first sight, as well as a rich editor with Markdown support, allowing you to write texts of any complexity. Tags are used to organize notes, it is possible to add links to other notes and export ready-made texts in various formats. Bear has only one drawback: to sync with the iOS version and some advanced features, you will need a paid subscription.
Escape
Procrastination is a perennial problem that Escape is designed to combat. It helps you track your productivity throughout the day and shows you what distractions you are doing. Escape meticulously captures every second spent on social media and other nonsense, and then presents the data in the form of a graph, displaying the total amount of time killed.
Falcon
Falcon is a minimalistic and uncluttered alternative to Evernote. The application allows you to take notes using advanced formatting capabilities that are not inferior to the functions of advanced text editors. You can create checklists, individual notebooks, tag notes, send them to the archive. For convenient work with texts, Falcon provides a focus mode, as well as themes.
Displays
Working with multiple displays has certain challenges, which Displays can help you with. The utility allows you to quickly change the resolution on any of the displays, use the picture-in-picture function and such useful features as night mode and a virtual laser pointer, which is useful for presentations. Additional features include hiding icons, rotating images, assisting in calibration and others.
Tyme 2
It is very important for freelancers and other hourly workers to keep track of the time spent on projects. Tyme makes it easy and enjoyable. The application shows the entire process of working on a particular task in a structured way, allowing you to conveniently control the time frame and budget. Very extensive statistics with a visual representation of the data are available, as well as export to PDF, CSV or HTML.
Shredo
And the Shredo utility is useful for everyone who works with such important data that they simply should not fall into the wrong hands. To prevent this from happening, Shredo can destroy them with secure erase in one or more passes. The interface of the application is very simple: you just need to drag the files you want to the Shredo window and wait for the operation to complete. You can destroy both data from the internal storage, and from external ones.
Capto
If you record screencasts, then Capto is the only application you will need to create and edit them. It allows you to capture any area of the screen in HD quality at 60 frames per second, add video comments, annotations and all kinds of effects, and then immediately upload the video to YouTube and other services.
Airmail 3
The new numbered version of the popular Airmail email client has grown wiser. The app now has smart folders, VIPs, custom gestures, shortcuts and deferred mail. Thanks to integration with Trello, Asana and other services, as well as advanced synchronization with the mobile version, working with mail has become even more convenient.
Gemini 2
The new version of Gemini boasts intelligent algorithms that, with surgical precision, find not only duplicates, but similar files as well. The program is now able to self-study, remembering your selection criteria when removing duplicates, and the developers have also added a whole system of achievements and funny titles, thanks to which it has become more fun to clean up duplicates.
