When else, if not hot summer, when the freshest, juicy and fragrant berries and fruits at ridiculous prices are at hand, to prepare the favorite drink of the Spaniards - sangria? We think now is the right time, so we have prepared 15 great recipes for you!
Wikipedia tells us:
Sangria (Spanish sangría from Spanish sangre - blood) is a Spanish medium alcoholic drink based on red wine with the addition of pieces of fruit, sugar, as well as a small amount of brandy and dry liqueur.
Initially, the Spaniards carried a wineskin with red wine diluted with spring water and citrus juice. He quenched his thirst well and did not get drunk. Then the drink gradually transformed into what we drink now.
In our usual understanding, this is red wine with slices of peaches and oranges, but in fact there can be a lot of options!
Recipe number 1. Peach + lemonade
Ingredients
- 1 bottle of dry white wine (750 ml);
- 3/4 cup peach vodka or liqueur
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 + 1/2 cups lemonade
- 1 cup raspberries
- 2 peach wedges.
Preparation
Mix all the ingredients and refrigerate for several hours.
Recipe number 2. Margarita
Ingredients
- 1 bottle of sauvignon blanc;
- 1/2 cup tequila
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 limes, sliced
- 1/2 lemon, sliced
- 1/2 small orange, sliced
- 2 cups of cold mineral water.
Preparation
Mix all the ingredients, except for mineral water, and send it to the refrigerator to infuse. Add mineral water before serving and mix well.
Recipe number 3. Strawberry with lemon
Ingredients
- chopped strawberries (1-2 berries per glass);
- 30 ml limoncello liqueur;
- prosecco, moscato or champagne;
- long strips of lemon zest.
Preparation
Put chopped strawberries into champagne glasses, add limoncello on top, fill the glass with champagne or sparkling wine and decorate with lemon zest.
Recipe number 4. Tropical
Ingredients
- 1 ripe pineapple;
- 2 ripe mangoes;
- 750 ml dry white wine;
- 180 ml white coconut rum (or just white rum);
- ice.
Preparation
Cut all the fruit into small pieces and place in a decanter. The middle of the pineapple can be sent to a juicer and juiced with pulp to the sliced fruit. Pour everything with wine and rum and send to the refrigerator.
Recipe number 5. Pomegranate
Ingredients
- 1 apple, cut into thin slices;
- 1 orange, cut into small pieces;
- 1 bottle of chardonnay;
- 1/2 cup peach nectar
- 1 small bottle of sparkling mineral water (330 ml);
- 1/2 cup fresh pomegranate seeds
Preparation
Chill wine, juice, and soda separately. Then mix them gently and pour them into glasses. Add apple slices, oranges and pomegranates to them.
Recipe number 6. Apple cider
Ingredients
- 6 cups of apple cider
- 2 oranges;
- 1 large apple;
- 1 cup of ginger vodka
- 1/2 cup cranberries, can be frozen (optional)
- 1 bottle of dry champagne.
Preparation
Cut the apple and one orange into small pieces, squeeze the juice out of the second orange. Send apple and orange pieces to a decanter, fill them with orange juice, apple cider and vodka and leave them in the refrigerator for eight hours.
Then pour into champagne glasses, allow to warm to room temperature and top up with chilled champagne. If you decide to make a drink with cranberries, then you can either put it together with an apple and an orange in the refrigerator to infuse, or add a couple of berries to each glass.
Recipe number 7. Berry splash
Ingredients
- 1 + 1/2 liters of nutmeg wine;
- 1/2 cup silver tequila
- 330 ml strawberry nectar;
- 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, cut into chunks
- 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
- lemonade optional.
Preparation
Mix all the ingredients and send them to the refrigerator to cool (preferably overnight). Pour into glasses and add some fresh berries.
Recipe number 8. Cucumber
Ingredients
- 2 glasses of water;
- 4 bags of green tea;
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cucumber, peeled and chopped;
- 2 sprigs of fresh mint;
- 1 bottle of chilled nutmeg wine
Preparation
Brew green tea in two glasses of water, add sugar, stir well until completely dissolved and let it cool. Then add cucumber and mint and refrigerate for at least four hours. Take it out of the fridge 30 minutes before serving and add chilled wine.
Recipe number 9. Pear and berries
Ingredients
- 1 + 1/2 liters of nutmeg wine;
- 2 pears, thinly sliced;
- 1/2 cup blackberries
- 1/2 cup raspberries
- 1 cup chopped strawberries
- 330 ml of pear juice.
Preparation
Combine all the ingredients and refrigerate overnight.
Recipe number 10. Ginger and berry
Ingredients
- 1 cup ginger liqueur
- 2 bottles of dry rose wine;
- 1 orange, cut into thin slices;
- 1 cup blueberries
- 1 cup chopped strawberries
- 1 + 1/2 cups sparkling water
Preparation
Mix all the ingredients except soda and refrigerate for at least an hour. Add soda before serving.
Recipe number 11. Pink berries
Ingredients
- 180 grams of raspberries;
- 450 grams of strawberries;
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons of sugar;
- 80 ml of light rum;
- 200 ml lemonade;
- 750 ml of nutmeg wine.
Preparation
Cut the strawberries into thin rings, put them in a small saucepan, add raspberries to it, cover with sugar and cook over low heat until the berries are soft and the sugar dissolves completely. Then let the berries cool down, add lemon juice, wine and lemonade there and leave in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
Recipe number 12. Fruit with nutmeg wine
Ingredients
- 200 grams of sugar;
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup raspberries
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 orange, sliced thinly
- 1 grapefruit, thinly sliced
- 60 ml triple-sec;
- 1 bottle (750 ml) rose Muscat wine.
Preparation
Bring water to a boil and add sugar. Cook until the sugar is completely dissolved and then cool the resulting sugar syrup. Put fruits and berries in a decanter, add some of the syrup, triple sec and wine, stir well and taste. If there is not enough sugar, add a little more syrup. Then send it to the refrigerator for at least an hour.
Recipe number 13. Raspberry-lemon
Ingredients
- 2 bottles of rose wine (750 ml each);
- 1/2 cup limoncello
- 2 lemons, cut into thin slices;
- 1/2 kilogram of raspberries;
- 2 cups of cold soda water
Preparation
Mix all the ingredients except soda and send to the refrigerator. Mix with chilled sparkling water before serving.
Recipe number 14. Melon + watermelon
Ingredients
- 1 + 1/2 cups watermelon, cut into small cubes
- 3 cups cantaloupe (preferably different varieties), cut into small cubes;
- 2 cups of ice
- 10 mint leaves;
- 1/4 lime juice;
- 2 bottles of any sparkling wine.
Preparation
Place the watermelon and melon on the bottom of the decanter and cover with ice on top. Gently remember the mint with lime juice and add to the watermelon and melon. Then fill it all over with wine and serve.
Recipe number 15. Jalapenos + berries
Ingredients
- 1/2 glass of brandy;
- 1/2 cup pomegranate juice
- 1/3 cup agave syrup or sugar syrup
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 2 cups of berry mixture (strawberry, raspberry, blackberry)
- 1/2 hot pepper, cut into small pieces (remove seeds);
- a bottle of dry white wine;
- 1 cup soda water
Preparation
Put the berries, hot peppers in a decanter, pour in cognac and stir with a wooden spoon, lightly pressing the berries so that they let the juice out. Then add lemon juice, agave nectar (or sugar syrup), pomegranate juice and wine. Mix everything well again and send it to the refrigerator for at least six hours. Add sparkling water before serving.
