Platforms: PC, macOS, Xbox One, iOS, Android.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is the first thing that comes to mind when talking about games in the Star Wars universe. BioWare's party-based RPG made a splash even before its release. While most games have covered events since the first episode of the movie saga, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic takes us back to the days of the Old Republic. This era is part of the expanded Star Wars universe, which is most often seen in comics and books.

BioWare's corporate identity is immediately apparent: charismatic companions, a terrifying main villain, and difficult moral choices - a solid framework that underpins most of the studio's games. You will go from an ordinary person to a Jedi master, get the Ebon Hawk at your disposal, collect your first lightsaber and fight the powerful Darth Malak.

Platforms: PC, macOS.

Keeping the best ideas of the first part, the creators of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords brought in several dramatic changes. Thanks to this, the game turned out to be deeper and more detailed. For example, it became possible to influence your allies if you find the right approach to them. Influence not only opens up new branches in the dialogues, but can also change the character of the character.

The plot is built around the Sith, capable of plunging the entire galaxy into chaos. The player is responsible for saving the world from their tyranny. As always, the choice is yours: you can fulfill your destiny or kill everyone in order to experience the full power of the dark side of the Force and reign supreme over the galaxy.

Platforms: PC, macOS.

The game tells about the events that took place several years after the Battle of Yavin IV - a very important date in the history of Star Wars, when the first Death Star was destroyed.

In the role of the exiled Jedi Kyle Katarn, the player helps the New Republic finish off the remnants of the Imperial forces. Katarn left the order for fear of going to the dark side and gave up his lightsaber. But the Force has its own plans for the ex-Jedi.

Players will have to return the main character to the path of truth, find a lightsaber and fight the forces of the revived Empire, commanded by the Dark Jedi Dessan.

Platforms: PC, macOS.

Another example of a successful sequel. Although Jedi Academy turned out to be not as big as Jedi Outcast, it brought some fresh ideas to the series. In the role of a talented student of the Jedi Academy Jadan Korra, the player finds himself in the center of events related to the resurrection of Mark Ragnos - a very old and powerful Sith.

Unlike the previous game, in Jedi Academy you can choose a side of the Force, a character, and a lightsaber. Otherwise, it is similar to its predecessor. You will visit places you've read about in books and see famous characters such as Luke Skywalker.

A great gift for fans of the expanded Star Wars universe from 2003.

5. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Platforms: PC, macOS, Xbox One.

The most distant story from the canon, but this is even a plus. The developers were free to do whatever they wanted. This is how the powerful Starkiller appeared - a student of Darth Vader.

The game takes place between the original trilogy and the prequels. In the midst of a crusade against the Jedi, Darth Vader finds a Force-sensitive child and takes him on training without Palpatine's knowledge.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed allows you to fully enjoy the power of the dark side: crush your opponent with a boulder or throw him at a wall with full swing. If this is not enough, you can always fry the enemy with lightning or send them into orbital flight with a force push. Starkiller is not shy and in front of large enemies. In a fit of rage, the young Sith effectively cuts the AT-ST at the first opportunity.

A daring game about a student of Darth Vader will satisfy the hunger of fans who miss the third-person action in the universe of "Star Wars", which are now very few.

6. Star Wars: Republic Commando

Platform: PC.

Everyone knows the stormtroopers from "Star Wars", and jokes about their accuracy are already overgrown with a decent beard. But with their predecessors from the prequels, things are different.

Star Wars: Republic Commando takes place during the Clone Wars. The player acts as the commander of the special tactical unit "Delta". Clones in the game are no longer perceived as cannon fodder. They are full-fledged personalities who want to empathize.

The game received mixed reviews, but many players are still waiting for the continuation of the Delta Squad story.

A richer and more ambitious second part boasts new modes, eras and game mechanics. It also featured battles in space, which delighted Star Wars fans. The game features two eras, four warring factions and all known heroes.

LEGO games have their own atmosphere and special charm. Both adults and children enthusiastically play in them. It is also a great opportunity to visit familiar locations from the movies.

LEGO Star Wars parodically plays on the already well-known events of the films. The games in this series are not as serious as others on this list, but this is more of a plus. The opportunity to fight as Darth Vader shoulder to shoulder with Master Yoda is worth a lot.

9. Star Wars: The Old Republic

Platform: PC.

After Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, fans cherished the hope of a third installment, but BioWare and EA decided otherwise. The game changed its name to Star Wars: The Old Republic and evolved into an MMORPG. The gaming community rebelled, because everyone wanted to continue the series. The developers and the publisher were relentless, but they did not want to anger the players either. Therefore, it turned out the first fully voiced MMORPG, which managed to combine the pros and cons of the two genres.

Star Wars: The Old Republic has grind and other annoying MMO mechanics. At the same time, the game pleases with a fascinating plot. Each class has its own history, companions, and even ships. Game mechanics for different classes also differ. In addition, each class has a subclass, and a branchy skill tree allows the player to customize the character to suit their play style.

To fully use the game's capabilities, you will have to look for companions, join guilds and participate in events, but this is not necessary. The fun of Star Wars: The Old Republic can be obtained by playing exclusively in the story campaign.

If you miss the Old Republic, feel free to launch this game. It turned out to be full of events and interesting characters, and there will be enough content for more than a dozen sleepless nights.

10. Star Wars: Empire at War

Platforms: PC, macOS.

There are not very many Star Wars strategies, although the setting is perfect for this genre. Star Wars: Empire at War is an undeservedly forgotten game, but beloved by fans. Events unfold between episodes III and V. The player chooses one of the opposing sides: the rebels or the galactic Empire.

To win, you need to discover new technologies, build ships, plan attacks, and then unleash the full power of the Imperial Star Destroyers on the rebel fleet. Better yet, destroy a couple of planets with a Death Star salvo.

The wildest dreams of Star Wars fans have come true in the massive Star Wars: Empire at War.
