Load web pages quickly even with poor internet.
When turbo mode is on, the content of the page is sent to the browser servers, where it is compressed and then transmitted to the user. This saves traffic and speeds up website loading.
The built-in turbo mode (or, as it is also called, the traffic saving mode) is available in Opera, Yandex Browser, mobile versions of Chrome and Firefox. In Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer, it cannot be added, but in Safari and desktop versions of Chrome and Firefox, you will have to install extensions.
How to enable turbo mode in Opera
Desktop version
Call the main menu and go to settings. Check the box "Show advanced settings". Open the Browser tab and scroll down to Opera Turbo. Check the "Enable" checkbox.
Add the Turbo Button extension for convenience. After installing it, a button will appear on the taskbar of the browser, which you can turn on and off the turbo mode.
mobile version
In the mobile version of Opera, the option to save traffic remains on the first settings screen.
Turn on turbo and monitor usage statistics. If you want to save more bandwidth, choose a lower image quality.
How to enable turbo mode in Yandex Browser
Desktop version
Traffic saving mode turns on automatically when the speed drops to 128 kbps. As soon as the speed rises to 512 kbps, the turbo is disabled. You cannot change these values, but you can manually enable or disable traffic saving.
To control turbo mode in Yandex Browser, open the main menu and go to Settings. Find the Turbo section.
You can choose the mode of continuous operation or prevent the browser from saving traffic.
mobile version
On a mobile device, turbo mode is also started through the settings.
If a lot of traffic goes to the video, enable compression during playback. This will degrade the quality but increase the download speed. In other browsers, this is not possible.
How to enable turbo mode in Chrome
Desktop version
Chrome does not have built-in turbo on your computer. To add this feature, you need to install the free "Traffic Saver" extension.
After adding the extension, the icon will appear on the taskbar. When you click on it, you will be taken to an information window that shows the traffic consumption.
The traffic saving mode always works. If you are not satisfied with how the extension works, disable it. This can be done through the "Extensions" section in the main menu of Chrome.
mobile version
You don't need to install anything on the mobile version of Chrome. The traffic saving function is built into the browser.
Call the main menu and go to "Settings". In the "Additional" field, find and enable "Traffic Saver".
How to enable Turbo Mode in Firefox
Desktop version
The desktop version of Mozilla also does not have a built-in turbo mode, but the task of saving traffic can be solved using other extensions. Remove banner ads, add apps to hide images and videos, and you will consume less traffic.
mobile version
To enable traffic saving, open the main menu, go to the "Parameters" section and select the "Advanced" tab.
In the "Save traffic" field, you can set the mode of displaying images and using web fonts.
How to enable Turbo Mode in Safari
Desktop version
To save traffic in the desktop version, use ad blockers. Without banners, the loading speed of sites will increase.
You can save pages so that they are available without an internet connection. To add content, click the plus sign in the address bar and select Reading List.
mobile version
To increase the download speed on the mobile version, use the Speedafari extension. A Reading List feature is also available, so you can download pages over Wi-FI and then view them without an internet connection.
