The results are impressive, aren't they? With a height of 1 m 71 cm, James weighed almost 127 kg. He tried various workouts and diets and found that nothing worked the same for everyone. Everyone must make their own path to health. And he shares his little story of one big victory.

James was well-fed since childhood and simply did not remember himself with a normal weight. At the university, his weight reached 127 kg. He just got used to it, but understood that this problem needed to be solved. But any decisive action needs a push.

Key moment

And this defining moment for James was … illness. He fell ill with pneumonia and was in bed for 3 weeks. During this time, he lost 9 kg. It was after this that he realized that, it turns out, it is quite possible to lose weight even in his case.

And then he seriously took up this issue.

Sport

Perhaps someone managed to lose weight solely thanks to sports. But not James. In his case, training with a personal trainer did not help. No matter how much he did, it had absolutely no effect on his weight.

I dare to suggest that volumes may have changed, since sometimes weight is not an indicator. Muscle weighs more than fat.

Diet

But the diet helped. But at the same time, James had to go through three diets, the path to which he groped very carefully.

First, he reduced his intake of processed foods, flour products made from wheat flour, and foods high in sugar and sugar substitutes. And this gave certain results.

Portion control

The next step was to control the amount of food eaten. James was very worried that since sports did not help him much, he might gain weight again. And he began to control the size of his portions. He did not deny himself anything and ate practically what he always did. He just stopped taking a supplement for himself and reduced his portions so that they allowed him to satisfy his hunger, but at the same time he never felt that he was full to the eyeballs.

The result is minus another 9 kg in two months. At this point, the gains in weight loss paused, and for further progress, only reducing the portion size was not enough.

Low Carb Diet

The next step towards the cherished goal was a low-carb diet. After moving to Vancouver, James again sought help from a personal trainer. And she showed him how to keep a diary of the carbohydrates he ate throughout the day.

Since James practiced vegetarianism, in order to feel full, he ate tons of pasta and bread. The coach advised him to reduce his intake of these foods and eat more vegetables.

Thanks to this diet, he lost another 9 kg. At this, his progress stopped again, and he realized that it was time to select a suitable diet again.

Eat to live

During this diet, developed by Dr. Joel Furman, you can only eat fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts and seeds. At the same time, oils, dairy products, sugar and even juices are strictly prohibited.

Thanks to this diet, James lost another 7 kg. At the same time, he admitted that he had very mixed feelings, since it was quite difficult to get enough of these products and he was hungry in an hour. Therefore, the impression was created that he only did what he ate.

Vegetarianism

As I said, James practiced vegetarianism. And if at home he had a wide selection of food and dishes, then during visits to visit friends or to restaurants, he began to experience certain problems. And if he managed to lose 2-3, 5 kg per month, then after a trip to a conference and eating in restaurants, he scored as much as 7 and this turned out to be his biggest disappointment. It turned out that vegetarianism interfered with effectively losing weight, since in order to satisfy the feeling of hunger for a long time, there were not enough vegetables and fruits. Accordingly, they were supplemented with pasta and other flour products. And with such a diet, you will not lose weight quickly.

Now

And so he decided to quit vegetarianism and start eating meat and fish, while significantly reducing the use of flour products and sugar.

James now eats unprocessed carbs, vegetables, fruits, meat and fish. Pastries, chocolate and ice cream were completely excluded. Since in one of the periods when James began to eat bread, he gained excess weight again.

In restaurants, he orders a steak with a clear conscience and refuses flour and sweets, saying that he is allergic to flour and sugar. Thanks to all this, it turned out to get rid of another 18 extra pounds.

And James is not going to stop there. He will not calm down until the abs cubes are clearly drawn on his stomach.;)

This example proves once again that nothing is impossible and we ourselves define our framework. And that everyone should look for their own path, even if it is not very short and simple. What helped your friend doesn't have to save you.
