However, love can connect even such different people.
The legendary Broadway musical Grease has launched the careers of many famous artists. It is not surprising that over time they decided to transfer the plot to the big screen. The tandem of John Travolta and Australian singer Olivia Newton-John captivated the audience, even though the actors did not look like schoolchildren. For example, Newton-John was 28 years old when filming began. But the main thing in this film is still not believability, but a beautiful and vivid story.

"Sixteen Candles" is the first part of director / screenwriter John Hughes' school trilogy, which also includes "The Breakfast Club" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." All three films are considered the standard of youth cinema and almost the manifesto of a whole generation of American teenagers.

- IMDb: 7, 9.
Five high school students who have fined must spend the day off writing essays within the walls of the school. Under normal circumstances, such different students would never be friends. But thanks to punishment, the heroes realize that they have more in common than meets the eye.
The second part of the school trilogy by John Hughes did not immediately appeal to the public. The press also met the picture ambiguously. But gradually most critics recognized that the Breakfast Club was the best work of a director, where a very deep story about growing up and the right to choose is hidden behind a simple plot.
4. Ferris Bueller's day off
- USA, 1986.
- Comedy.
- Duration: 103 minutes.
- IMDb: 7, 8.
Instead of passing the final exams, Ferris Bueller goes all out and travels to Chicago with his best friends. The only trouble is that his sister is asleep and sees how to frame her brother, who always gets away with everything.
In the final part of his trilogy, John Hughes again managed to show the life of adolescents with the utmost honesty. In this film, he also played the still very young Matthew Broderick, who won a Golden Globe nomination for his role as a charming schoolboy.
5. High and confused

- Comedy.
- Duration: 102 minutes.
- IMDb: 7, 6.
The film tells several stories of graduates on the last day of their studies. Ahead of teenagers await grandiose farewell to childhood, full of sex, drugs and rock and roll.
The title of a film by the excellent director Richard Linklater can easily mislead viewers. In fact, the tape tells not so much about prohibited substances as about the fear of change and adulthood.
“High and Confused” is also worth watching because young Ben Affleck and Matthew McConaughey played their first notable roles in it.
6. Clueless

Based on Jane Austen's novel Emma, this film is a never-ending source of inspiration for anyone who loves the style of the 1990s, as well as a reminder of how good young Alicia Silverstone, Brittany Murphy and Paul Rudd were.

9. Napoleon Dynamite
- USA, 2004.
- Comedy.

The clumsy red-haired teenager Napoleon Dynamite dreams of becoming a ninja, draws incredible animals all day and swears with his older brother. The hero's life changes after Napoleon and his inhibited friend Pedro decide by all means to defeat the school beauty Summer Weasley in the presidential elections.
The very strange and unusual "Napoleon Dynamite" grew out of the black and white amateur short film "Peluca", which director Jared Hess made during his student years. Even the search engine Netflix has a hard time telling The Napoleon Dynamite Problem Stymies Netflix Prize Competitors if this movie is funny or not. But be that as it may, in the United States, the picture is recognized as a cult, and young people throughout the country are memorizing the movements of John Header in the hope of dancing Napoleon to the music of Jamiroquai.

The situation is complicated by the fact that at first Cadey is not in the best company, and then she also falls in love with the ex-boyfriend of the main school beauty - the askers.
The director of the killer "Freaky Friday" Michael Waters again took on the leading role of the gifted Lindsay Lohan and was right. But the sequel with other actors is not worth watching - there is not even a trace of the fun of the original in it.

Judd Apatow's production project (40-Year-Old Virgin, A Little Pregnant) brings together everyone's favorite comedians. Among them are Jonah Hill, Michael Cera and Seth Rogen, who acted here more as a co-writer of the script. But still he played one episodic, but very funny role.
And although to some, "Superbaddies" will remind you of typical teenage comedies like "American Pie", the film directed by Greg Mottola is much smarter and more soulful. One feels that the creators really love and respect their unlucky heroes, because they themselves were once like them.

At the same time, the picture was a success from the point of view of the psychology of the characters, for which we should thank the author of the script - debutante Diablo Cody. The life of this woman is truly amazing. Previously, Cody made a living by striptease and telephone sex services, but eventually became a famous writer and won an Oscar for "Juno".
13. Excellent student of easy virtue

A modest high school student, Olive, inadvertently becomes a victim of unflattering gossip. At first, the heroine even likes everyone's attention, but over time, the unfairly acquired reputation of a girl of "easy virtue" begins to threaten her stay in school.
In the comedy, it is easy to see a parallel with the classic novel by Nathaniel Hawthorne "The Scarlet Letter", in which the main character, considering her husband dead, gave birth to a child out of wedlock. For this she was forced to wear the red letter "A", which means adulteress ("adulteress"). The heroine of Emma Stone also sews a scarlet letter on her clothes, thereby challenging society.
Writing the Script “Easy A,” Bert Royal told Writing the Script “Easy A,” wrote the story in just five days. Currently in development is an ‘Easy A’ Spinoff in the Works spin-off, which Royal is also working on, but now also as a director. But whether Emma Stone will return in the new film is still unknown.

Black comedy by Canadian director Eli Craig masterfully ridicules American youth horror films - slashers. The film completely reverses the laws of the genre: the victims themselves get in trouble, and the villains are actually the nicest people. Needless to say, it all comes out very funny.
15. Macho and nerd
- USA, 2012.
- Crime comedy thriller.
- Duration: 109 minutes.
- IMDb: 7, 2.
Crammed Morton Schmidt and handsome Greg Jenko hated each other at school, but then they met at the police academy and became best friends. Now comrades disguised as teenagers will have to infiltrate high school and find the one who is behind the regular supply of potent drugs.
The creators took the idea from the classic television series 21 Jump Street, broadcast from 1987 to 1991. True, the original did not differ in humorous intonation, but Jonah Hill, who decided to test himself in the film-dramatic field, turned a serious police detective into one of the best youth comedies.
