50 books that won the Booker Prize

The Man Booker Prize was established in 1969 to reward the best English-speaking writers.

Previously, it was awarded to authors residing in one of the countries of the Commonwealth of Nations, Ireland or Zimbabwe. Since 2014, only one main condition has been in effect - the novel must be written and published in English.

The winner receives 50 thousand pounds (3.6 million rubles). But the matter, of course, is not about money, but about prestige. The books are carefully selected, and the works of the winner and shortlisted participants are subsequently published all over the world. Several Booker winners have also received the Nobel Prize in Literature - William Golding, John Maxwell Coetzee, Nadine Gordimer and Vidiadhar Naipaul.
