Relax your body and mind in just a few minutes.

Military meditation that will allow you to fall asleep even during the bombing

The essence of this technique, used by the American military, is to gradually relax the body, and then not think about anything for 10 seconds. Proceed in order:

  • Relax your facial muscles. This includes the tongue, jaw and muscles around the eyes.
  • Drop your shoulders as low as possible. Relax your arms in turn: hands, forearms, shoulders.
  • Exhale and relax your chest.
  • Now relax your legs. First the thighs, then the legs and feet.

Spend about a minute and a half doing this. Then move on to mental relaxation. The creator of this technique, sports trainer Bud Winter, offers three options for calming:

  • Imagine that you are lying in a boat, the water in the lake is calm, there is only blue sky above you.
  • Imagine that you are snuggled up in a black velvet hammock in a dark room.
  • Repeat "Don't think, don't think, don't think" for 10 seconds.

This advice - to gradually relax the body - is used in almost all meditation techniques. Because it really works.

You don't have to force yourself to do it in two minutes. Listen to your body and find a sleep schedule that suits you. This is perhaps the main tip for getting a good night's sleep.
