Actor and singer Ricky lives in New York with his wife Lucy. He does not let his wife try her hand at show business, considering her not talented enough. But the heroine does not give up and continues to look for a path to fame.

Despite its advanced age, the series is still funny. The project was at least ahead of its time: for example, it first showed the relationship between a white American woman and a Cuban. Moreover, the actors were married both on the screen and in life.

2. Twilight zone

  • Science fiction, horror, thriller.
  • Duration: 5 seasons.
  • IMDb: 9, 0.

Each episode of the anthology tells a new story about monsters, aliens and otherworldly phenomena. But under the sauce of fiction, the series also raises real problems of society, among which, for example, inequality and war.

The Twilight Zone has had a huge impact on popular culture. Without this show, "The X-Files" and "Black Mirror" would never have appeared, and most episodes can still surprise with their denouement.

3. Monty Python: Flying Circus

  • Great Britain, 1969-1974.
  • Black comedy.
  • Duration: 4 seasons.
  • IMDb: 8, 8.

English humor is now impossible to imagine without sketches by the Monty Python troupe. Their work redefined what comedy should look like and inspired the creators of Mr. Bean, The Fry & Laurie Show, The Simpsons and South Park.

Interestingly, Jim Carrey is also among the Python fans and even borrowed the plastic of one of the participants for his character Ace Ventura.

4. Damn service at the MES hospital

  • USA, 1972-1983.
  • Medical drama, black comedy.
  • Duration: 11 seasons.
  • IMDb: 8, 4.

The series tells about the everyday life of doctors in a military field hospital. These doctors love pranks and jokes, but they never forget about their main job: saving the lives of soldiers.

In 1969, the full-length comedy "MES Field Hospital" was released. The audience liked the caustic humor and satire so much that a whole series was filmed about the adventures of doctors, which stretched for as many as 11 seasons.

Thanks to killer jokes and chic acting, the project has not become outdated at all. Only it is better to watch it in the original voice acting: many witticisms are lost when translated into Russian.

5. The Fry and Laurie Show

  • Great Britain, 1987-1995.
  • Black comedy.
  • Duration: 4 seasons.
  • IMDb: 8, 3.

Many viewers are probably familiar with the tandem of Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry on the TV series Jeeves and Worcester. But even earlier, comedians won the hearts of the audience with a funny sketch show named after themselves, where they reincarnated in different characters.

Despite its solid endurance, The Fry & Laurie Show can still evoke sincere laughter and a great mood. Perhaps the only drawback of the series is that it is offensively short.

6. Seinfeld

  • USA, 1989-1998.
  • Comedy, sitcom.
  • Duration: 9 seasons.
  • IMDb: 8, 8.

Jerry Seinfeld is a successful stand-up comedian. He lives in New York and together with friends - the ladies' man George, ex-girlfriend Elaine and a very strange guy Kramer - constantly finds himself in absurd situations.

Once upon a time comedian Jerry Seinfeld, together with co-writer Larry David, came up with a sitcom about his own life. It's literally about nothing (and we're not exaggerating here at all), but it has become iconic and inspired the later comedies Friends and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

7. Mr. Bean

  • Great Britain, 1990-1995.
  • Comedy.
  • Duration: 1 season.
  • IMDb: 8, 5.

Mr. Bean is still that weirdo. It is not known who he is, where he is from and by whom he works. Bean's best friend is the teddy bear he carries with him everywhere. In addition, the hero constantly encounters different people and does ridiculous nonsense.

Despite the fact that Rowan Atkinson has played many excellent roles in theater and cinema, for the audience he remains primarily Mr. Bean. This character does not even really speak, but only mutters something under his breath, like a hero of a silent movie. But Atkinson's talent for comic pantomime makes Bean incredibly charming.

8. Twin Peaks

  • USA, 1990–2017.
  • Thriller, detective, crime, drama, fantasy.
  • Duration: 3 seasons.

In the small town of Twin Peaks, someone kills a girl named Laura Palmer. FBI agent Dale Cooper arrives to investigate the crime, who will soon have to face the supernatural nature of this place.

David Lynch knows how to keep him on his toes, so the question "Who killed Laura Palmer?" remained open to the audience until the very end. But even after that, fans continued to build theories, for example, about what the Black Lodge is.

The controversy continues to this day, and the new, third season of the show, which was released in 2017, added even more food for thought to fans.

9. X-Files

  • USA, Canada, 1993–2018.
  • Science fiction, thriller, drama, crime, detective.

FBI agents Dana Scully and Fox Mulder are assigned to lead a special project related to the paranormal. In the course of investigations, the heroes constantly argue, but gradually they become imbued with feelings for each other.

A whole cult has formed around the series. He was adored not only in the West, but also in Russia. The finale of the show, however, left many innuendos that feature-length films could not fill.

In 2016, Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny returned as agents, but the restart was unsuccessful. Unlike Twin Peaks, this was the case when a show that had ended did not need to be resurrected.

10. Friends

  • USA, 1994-2004.
  • Comedy, melodrama.
  • Duration: 10 seasons.
  • IMDb: 8, 9.
