Important tips for preparing a flavorful dish.
How to prepare mushrooms for frying
Rinse fresh mushrooms under cold running water. Then cut off the edges of the legs. If there are dark spots on the mushrooms, remove them as well. It is better to dry washed mushrooms with a paper towel.
Cut the mushrooms the way you want: into quarters, slices, large or small pieces, or any other method. If the mushrooms are not too large, you can leave them whole.
Frozen mushrooms do not need to be defrosted first.
What can be added to champignons
These mushrooms have a very pleasant aroma. Therefore, from spices, you can do only with salt and ground black or white pepper. They should be added at the end of frying. The rest of the seasonings can drown out the mushroom smell. Although this is, of course, a matter of taste.
Onions go very well with fried mushrooms. It is fried in different ways. Most often, chopped onions are first sautéed to a light golden hue, and only then mushrooms are added to it. But sometimes it is laid out with half-ready mushrooms and then fried together.
At the end of cooking, you can also add a little chopped garlic and chopped dill to the mushrooms.
How and how much to fry mushrooms
Preheat a skillet and brush with vegetable oil or butter. Place the prepared mushrooms there. If there are a lot of mushrooms, it is better to cook them in batches. Otherwise, they will be stewed, not fried.
Heat high and cook, stirring occasionally, without a lid. Wait until all the liquid has evaporated from the mushrooms. Then fry them a little more over medium heat, until they are lightly browned.
Coarsely chopped mushrooms are fried for 15-18 minutes, slices and medium pieces - 10 minutes or a little longer, and small pieces are enough for 5 minutes.
But it's better to be guided by your taste. Champignons can also be eaten raw, so if they cook less than the specified time, nothing bad will happen. Just bring them to the degree of ruddy that you like.
