1. Apple crumble

Crunchy crumb is the main feature of the English dessert called crumble. The word crumble is translated as “crumble”, “sprinkle”. In fact, it is a cross between a casserole and a loose pie. There is a juicy fruit and berry filling under the golden crumb.

The British traditionally cook apple crumble.

Ingredients

  • 3-4 sour apples;
  • 180 g flour;
  • 150 g sugar;
  • 150 g butter;
  • 1 tablespoon oatmeal
  • 1 tablespoon chopped nuts
  • 1 tablespoon cane sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Preparation

Wash and peel the apples. Core and cut into thin slices 1–2 cm wide. Melt 50 g butter in a small saucepan. Pour apples and 50 g of sugar into it (2 heaped tablespoons). Simmer fruit in sugar syrup until caramelized and slightly tender.

Transfer the apples to a deep baking dish. While they cool, make a dough. Mash the remaining butter, sugar and flour. If you like cinnamon, add 1 teaspoon. The resulting mass should resemble wet bread crumbs. Cover apples with this mixture.

Sprinkle with chopped nuts, oatmeal and cane sugar on top. Send to an oven preheated to 200 degrees and bake for 30-40 minutes.

2. Baked accordion apples

You've probably tried Hasselbeck potatoes. By this principle, meat fillets are often baked. But few people know what hasselbeck apples can be made.

Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet apples;
  • 4 tablespoons cane sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of oatmeal, requiring cooking;
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons flour;
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt;
  • vegetable oil for lubricating the mold;
  • ice cream and caramel for serving.

Preparation

Peel sweet but rather hard apples. It is convenient to do this with a vegetable peeler. Using a special tool, remove the core and cut each fruit in half.

Make longitudinal cuts in each half.

To avoid accidentally cutting the apple completely, place the half between two wooden shoulder blades. If the hand trembles, the knife will rest against the shoulder blade and prevent you from cutting through the fruit completely.

Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil and place the prepared apple halves in it.

In a separate bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of cane sugar, 1 ½ tablespoon of melted butter, and cinnamon. Using a brush, spread the mixture on apples, cover the form with foil and send to the oven, preheated to 200 ° C, for 20 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes.

At this time, combine the remaining sugar and melted butter. Add flour, salt and oatmeal. Stuff the apples with this mixture, gently opening the plates. Return the mold to the oven for another 10 minutes.

Serve with ice cream and caramel syrup.

3. Croutons rolls with apple filling

The availability of ingredients, as well as the ease of preparation, make this dish ideal for breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet apples;
  • 120 g cream cheese;
  • 30 g butter;
  • 10 slices of toast bread;
  • 2 eggs;
  • 3 tablespoons cane sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of milk;
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon of cinnamon.

Preparation

Cut the peeled apples into small cubes. In a small saucepan, combine them with lemon juice and cinnamon. Cook over high heat for 3-4 minutes.

Cut off the crusts from the bread and roll each slice with a rolling pin to make square layers, no more than a couple of millimeters thick. Spread cheese on each one.

Place the apple filling on the bread layers (1-2 tablespoons each) and roll them up.

Beat eggs with milk. Grease a skillet with butter and heat it well. Dip the rolls in the egg mixture and fry on all sides until golden brown. When removing toast rolls from the pan, sprinkle them with plenty of sugar (if you don't have cane, use regular sugar).

Serve with honey and tea.
