Skin care products can be found not only in expensive cosmetics and perfumery stores, but also in your kitchen. We share with you four recipes from inexpensive improvised ingredients that will help you become the owner of the most delicate skin.
1. Cleanser with honey and chia seeds
Quantity: about 100 ml.
Time: 15 minutes (not counting the time for brewing tea).
Suitable for all skin types.
Store in refrigerator for 10-14 days.
Brand scrubs with small particles, of course, help get rid of flaky skin, but very often they dry it out a lot. Chia (Spanish sage) seeds help to gently cleanse the skin without consequences. In addition, they contain fatty acids that are extremely beneficial for the skin.
Ingredients
- ½ cup of brewed and chilled rooibos tea;
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 4 tablespoon honey;
- ½ teaspoon lemon juice.
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine chia seeds and tea. Let it brew for 5 minutes.
- Add honey, lemon juice and mix well. If the mixture has stood for too long and becomes thick due to soggy seeds, add a couple more spoons of tea.
- Transfer the mixture to a container with a tight lid.
Application
Wash your face with a little cleanser. Rinse well with water.
2. Mint tonic
Quantity: about 100 ml.
Time: 30 minutes.
Suitable for all skin types, but not recommended if you have redheads - redness may appear.
Store in a refrigerator in an airtight container for 1–2 weeks.
Great if you want to get rid of small, non-inflamed pimples. The toner stimulates the skin, effectively slows down aging, balances the pH level and invigorates.
The aloe in this recipe can be used in different forms: juice, gel, jelly. They differ in consistency, so the product may also turn out to be thinner or thicker as a result, but this will not affect the beneficial properties of the final product.
Ingredients
For tea:
- 1 glass of filtered water;
- 1 bag of mint tea;
- 1 teaspoon dried or fresh rosemary
For tonic:
- ½ tablespoon of aloe juice;
- ¼ glasses of witch hazel extract;
- ¼ cups of prepared tea.
Instructions
- Pour water into a small saucepan, toss in the rosemary and tea bag, and simmer until half of the liquid has evaporated. Strain the resulting tea and cool.
- Pour the rosemary-mint tea into a medium bowl, add aloe vera juice and witch hazel extract. Stir.
- Use a funnel to pour into an airtight container.
Application
Lightly dampen a round cotton swab and wipe your face and neck. Or take a spray bottle and spray it all over your face. Use twice a day.
3. Serum with vitamin C
Quantity: 15 ml.
Time: 30 minutes.
Anti-aging remedy.
Store in refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
The bioflavonoids and vitamin C contained in the zest increase the elasticity of the skin and promote its rejuvenation. The rest of the components help to quickly assimilate nutrients. In addition, you will save a lot - vitamin C products are not cheap, and homemade serum works just as effectively.
Ingredients
For tea:
- 1 glass of filtered water;
- 1 teaspoon of zest
For whey:
- ½ teaspoon rosehip oil;
- ½ teaspoon of prepared zest tea;
- 1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel.
Instructions
- Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan. Remove from heat and add zest. Let it brew for 15 minutes. Strain and cool.
- In a small bowl, combine 1 teaspoon of the resulting zest tea, rosehip oil, and aloe vera gel. Mix well.
- Store in an airtight container. The serum is quite liquid, so you can pour it into a dropper bottle for convenient use.
Application
Apply 5-10 drops of serum to cleansed skin. Use twice a day.
4. Mask of Dead Sea mud, kombucha and brewer's yeast
Quantity: 60 ml (enough for three masks).
Time: 15 minutes.
Suitable for all skin types.
Store in refrigerator for 1–2 weeks. You can cook more and freeze. The composition can be stored in the freezer for 4–8 months.
The Dead Sea Mud contains algae that prevents skin aging and removes toxins from the skin. If you have acne, brewer's yeast, which unclogs the pores and is rich in vitamin B, can help get rid of them. Maple syrup is a natural analogue of glycolic acid that can help you peel at home and get rid of dead skin cells.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons of Dead Sea mud
- 2 teaspoons of starch;
- 2 teaspoons of rose extract;
- 2 teaspoons of brewer's yeast;
- 4 teaspoons of natural kombucha
- 1/2 teaspoon maple syrup.
Instructions
- Put all the ingredients in a small bowl and mix well.
- To balance the consistency, you can add more clay (if you want a thick mask) or more kombucha (if you prefer thin, light masks).
- Transfer to an airtight container.
Application
Apply 1-2 teaspoons of the mask to your face and spread from the neck and up, avoiding the eyes, nostrils and lips. Keep it on your face for 5-15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. Use once a week.
