Why statements are needed

Since a statement is an official document, we are writing it not just to a person from the street, but to an official. Therefore, we must indicate:

  1. The position of the addressee.
  2. Name of the organization.
  3. His name, patronymic and surname.

The name and position of the addressee must be written in the dative case (we ask ourselves the question "to whom?"). For example, director Petrov or rector Ivanova.

Applicant Information

In the information about the applicant, it is often enough just to indicate your last name and first name. When necessary, you can add an indication of the position or status. We indicate this data in the genitive case (we ask ourselves the question "from whom?").

There are often disputes about whether it is necessary to put the preposition "from" in the line about the applicant. That is, how is it correct: "Ivanova Maria" or "from Ivanova Maria"? Both options are valid.

The traditional form is writing without a preposition. But try to read the whole sentence - a series of names and surnames sounds rather confusing. With a pretext, such a problem does not arise: it is immediately clear to whom and from whom.

Title of the document

It would seem that it is difficult to simply write a "statement". However, there are some nuances here. The most common question: should I write this word with a capital or small letter? There are three valid spellings here.

The wording of a request, complaint or proposal
