The most famous Marvel heroes, such as Iron Man and Captain America, you will not see here (except in the role of a cameo). However, these series prove that even without a fabulous budget and Robert Downey Jr. in the lead role, you can create exciting stories about people with superpowers.

Daredevil

  • Science fiction, thriller, action, crime.
  • USA, 2015.
  • Duration: 2 seasons.
  • IMDb: 8, 8.

Matt Murdock, Daredevil, is one of the few disabled superheroes who went blind as a child. During the day, he protects people in court, and at night - on the streets. The visualization of the perception of the world by a blind person who fights harder than crowds of sighted people is excellently performed.

Many have already noticed the connection of this series with the freshly released "Iron Fist": it happens in approximately the same place and almost at the same time. The characters common to these two series only enhance this effect.

For lovers of stylish visuals, interesting characters and a good plot, this is a great excuse to spend the weekend on the couch. And don't start watching if you plan to get up early in the morning: very addictive.

Jessica Jones

  • Science fiction, action, thriller.
  • USA, 2015.
  • Duration: 2 seasons.
  • IMDb: 8, 2.

It seems that superheroes from individual TV shows living in the neighborhood are a new trend. Jessica's main enemy, the Purple Man, aka Killgrave, was the opponent of Daredevil in the comics.

Problems with alcohol, spying on people, the habit of breaking into friends' apartments through the window - here she is, the heroine that this city deserves. Jessica is brutal, harsh and suffers from the ghosts of the past. Ghosts are diligently trying to break into her life, simultaneously killing cute teenagers, retirees and beautiful girls. A kind of TV show, but you should at least try to watch it.

Legion

  • Science fiction, action, drama.
  • USA, 2017.
  • Duration: 1 season.
  • IMDb: 8, 8.

Can not understand anything. Who are all these people, do they exist? Does the main character suffer from dissociative identity disorder, or is the guy just unlucky enough to catch a brain parasite? Incomprehensible abilities, mysterious enemies, even more mysterious friends and the Devil with yellow eyes is one of the most terrifying characters in the history of TV shows.

Watching is undoubtedly recommended, especially for those who want something truly revolutionary and insane.

Iron fist

  • Science fiction, action, crime, adventure.
  • USA, 2017.
  • Duration: 1 season.
  • IMDb: 7, 9.

For fifteen years Danny Rand trained in a monastery belonging to a mysterious clan. For fifteen years he hasn't changed the playlist. Fifteen years ago, he was officially pronounced dead.

Only the lazy did not criticize the series for the illogical plot and stupid dialogues. But it's actually strange to expect a special plot depth from a kung fu series. This is not so much a story about an attempt to regain the company of his deceased father and defeat an evil Chinese old drug dealer with telekinetic abilities, but a story about how a person tries to find his place in life: family, friends, home.

Despite all the criticism against him, the hero evokes sympathy, and the series also puts pressure on nostalgic feelings well.

Luke Cage

  • Science fiction, action, drama, crime.
  • USA, 2016.
  • Duration: 2 seasons.
  • IMDb: 7, 8.

The series captivates with the brutality, atmosphere of Harlem and thus Luke's stern look from the very first minutes. Crime, racism, the struggle for your home - all these themes are in the series. Plus - not a seemingly obsessive love line.

At first glance, Luke looks like a good safe: impenetrable, fireproof, no one knows what is inside. At the same time, the character is surprisingly kind and honest. In places, his coolness seems feigned, but empathizing with him still turns out with ease. Bloody, well-choreographed fights are backed up by an interesting philosophy, all accompanied by a great soundtrack.

Some may find fault with the special effects, and the series is also called protracted, which is partly true: there are episodes that do not particularly move the plot. Although at the same time they reveal the characters in more detail, so this does not spoil the overall picture.

Agent Carter

  • Science fiction, action, adventure.
  • USA, 2015.
  • Duration: 2 seasons.
  • IMDb: 8, 0.

“Agent Carter” is best suited to the “might have missed” category. The series did not evoke either mass hatred or love: it quietly passed the viewer, leaving no third season behind.

The series turned out to be good, but not for everybody. A little-known character, an unusual time of action, a course of events, in principle, unusual for superheroics - all this is intriguing. Lovers of spreading cranberries will be made to smile a couple of times by the Soviet analogue of Hydra, and lovers of battle ladies will be pleased by the main character Peggy. The beautiful picture and the atmosphere of the forties also make things better. Superheroes in the series flicker, but in the background: they are mentioned in conversations or appear in flashbacks.

In general, this is a superhero series for those who do not particularly like superheroes, special effects and space travel. You can watch, sometimes even interesting.
