Lifehacker has compiled a selection of eight series that are worth watching if you are a fan of comics. Funny and dark, detective and fantastic - everyone will find something for themselves.

Preacher

The main character of the series is a young priest Jesse Caster. When Jesse was young, his father was killed in front of him. In parting, the father took the word from his son that he would always be on the side of good. At the beginning of the series, Jesse returns to his hometown of Annville to fulfill his promise and become a preacher, like his father once did.

The main difference between this series is the brutality of what is happening and the close connection with religion. The series does not create a fabulous comedic mood, and to some it may seem frightening at all.

The series is based on a comic strip that was produced in America from 1995 to 2000.

Legends of Tomorrow

The series follows a team of time travelers who face enemies who want to destroy the world. In each episode, the heroes find themselves in a new country and era, trying to find something or prevent time distortions. The heroes gradually change and learn new things about themselves and the world. All this is diluted with action, stylish costumes and good humor.

An excellent series in which everyone will find their favorite. If you are interested in the backstory of some of the characters, check out The Flash and The Arrow series as well.

Supergirl

The main character of this series is a relative of Superman Kara, who was supposed to take care of him on Earth. But due to a time anomaly, she ended up on our planet several years later than Clark, so he helped her to her feet.

Initially, Kara didn't want to be a superhero. She worked diligently, dreamed of one day becoming a journalist, talked to her foster sister and tried not to stick out. But one day she had to show the world her abilities to save her sister.

Unobtrusive, light and light series, in which there are also dramatic moments.

Lucifer

I'm a zombie

An ordinary girl Olivia suddenly becomes a zombie. And not just a zombie, but a zombie pathologist, trying to dine as discreetly as possible at work. When the boss finds out about her unusual eating habits, the fun begins. Olivia helps solve crimes, because by eating the brain, she gets part of the corpse's memories.

This is a zombie detective that will not leave anyone indifferent. This series cannot be called a full-fledged horror, but some scenes can be scary.

Gotham

The series tells about the times when Batman had not yet become Batman, Penguin was the six of the mafia, and James Gordon was trying to figure it out.

It is simply impossible to list all the comics on which Gotham is based - there are too many characters whose stories are revealed in the series.

There are practically no funny moments in Gotham, but this is not the main thing in it. A beautiful picture, vivid characters and how good people go crazy, turning into villains, and bad people save the situation, make it one of the best comic book series.

Flash

After the explosion in Central City, many people received superpowers. One of them was Barry Allen, who learned to travel faster than the speed of light. With his fellow scientists, Flash is trying to save his city from the attacks of meta-humans, aliens and aliens from parallel worlds.

Some of the events of the series change the entire universe, the same character can be either a ruthless killer or a best friend, and all this can happen in several episodes. One of those series, from which it is impossible to tear yourself away.

Arrow

The main character, Oliver Queen, spent five years on a desert island. After his sudden rescue, he tries to lead a normal life. But he does not succeed - superhero inclinations make themselves felt.

The series attracts with its gloom, and in general, the night avenger without superpowers, saving the city from crime, is a lot like Batman.

Arrow first appeared in comics in 1941 and was positioned as a leftist and working-class defender.
