Dating yourself creatively will help you get to know your inner world better, develop a creative streak and increase personal productivity.
In Julia Cameron's acclaimed bestseller The Artist's Way, one of the key tools for creative and personal growth is the practice of dating oneself: walking, traveling, creating paintings and crafts.
During creative dates, you can independently learn something new, follow your own emotions and changes.
For many, dating like this becomes a stumbling block, especially when museums, theaters and cinemas have already been tried. This is due to the inability to devote at least an hour a week only to yourself, to immerse yourself in your inner world. But there are so many ideas around for an exciting pastime.
Here are just a few of them:
1. Walk around your hometown as if you are here for the first time. Feel like a tourist.
2. Take a small amount and create a crazy look with second-hand items.
3. Record a music video for your favorite song from your youth.
4. Go to the cemetery: come up with tragic and romantic stories about the lives of those who rest here, think about the eternal.
5. Take pictures of something unusual. Wicker chairs, yellow cars, men in a hat. The main thing is that by the end of the day you have at least 10 photos. The crazier the subject, the more interesting it is.
6. Poke your finger on the list of Oscar-winning non-Hollywood films, download, watch to the end.
7. Write a letter to yourself in a year. Seal. Hide it, put a reminder on your phone to read it in a year.
8. Spend a normal weekday without spending a dime. Yes, for transport and lunch too. You don't have to go hungry and walk, improvise!
9. Make a visualization board. For some reason, you have had a stack of old glossy magazines for a long time? This is where they come in handy.
10. Take a commuter train ride to your first unfamiliar destination. It is desirable during daylight hours, of course, with money for a return ticket.
11. Go to the coffee shop with your laptop and write a story about the couple sitting opposite. Who knows, perhaps a great playwright was dozing in you.
12. Visit a vegan cafe. Usually, food is served here that is unusual for the average person. Expansion of the gastronomic horizons is guaranteed.
13. Make a list of 100 things you love. Or hate. Or both lists. You will be surprised at yourself.
14. Finally learn Tatyana's letter to Onegin!
15. Practice yoga. It is not necessary to immediately twist into a ram's horn. It is enough to try a few simple asanas.
16. Stretch out a cup of espresso at the coffee shop for an hour. Watch. Think. Meditate.
17. Finally, complete one of the bookmarked webinars. Your choice.
18. Take a walk down the street listening to classical music.
19. Buy a completely unfamiliar product in a gourmet store, find the most delicious recipe with it and prepare a masterpiece.
20. Choose from the folder with photos the best of the year. Print and paste into a beautiful scrapbook.
Even a little attention to yourself will soon result in noticeable pleasant changes. Remember to make time only for yourself at least once a week.
