Invite people without invites, use the Android app and share photos in rooms.
1. Invite people without invites
You can get into the Clubhouse only with the help of one of the active members, but you don't have to spend on this already limited number of invitations. This can be done through the "Let in" function.
The new user must register in the application and reserve a nickname. If an existing member has this person in contacts, then after a while he will receive a notification with a proposal to vouch for a friend and let him into the Clubhouse without waiting in line.
2. Use Clubhouse without iPhone
Officially, the app is only available to iPhone owners, but it can also be used on iPad. If the tablet does not have a cellular module, then you just need to download the application on the iPad, and enter the phone number and confirmation codes during registration from the smartphone. The application interface will be large, but it will still work.
Alternatively, you can use the unofficial Android version. There is a risk that the account will be blocked in the future, but so far there have been no such cases.
3. Record conversations using a voice recorder
Clubhouse does not allow recording in rooms without the consent of the speakers. If you have warned the participants or are going to use the audio files only for personal purposes, you can record the conversation using screen capture or an external device. However, there is an easier way - a standard voice recorder on the iPhone.
From an open room, minimize Clubhouse and invoke the built-in Spotlight search. Start typing "Dictaphone" and launch it.
Press the record button and you can return to the Clubhouse or do other things. Go to the "Voice Recorder" again and press the red button again to save.
4. Share photos right in the room
Since the social network involves communication exclusively by voice, there is no way to write to another person, let alone send pictures. However, there is still one way to show members any image - through a profile photo.
Hold your finger on your avatar to open the gallery, and then select the desired picture and set it as a userpic. Now other users only need to swipe down to update and they can view your photo.
5. Use the microphone button to interact
So far, Clubhouse doesn't have features like likes to express support. But if the audience can't do anything about it, then the speakers have one trick. Turning on and off the microphone, you can "blink" the Mute icon on the avatar.
According to the established tradition on social networks, a fast blink means an applause for the current speaker, and a slow blink indicates that you are asking the queue to speak.
Keep in mind that you can only use this trick when you are in a relatively quiet environment. Otherwise, the noise when turning on the microphone will be very disturbing.
6. Hide uninteresting rooms
Clubhouse algorithms show conversations in the feed that should interest you. And although they work quite accurately, sometimes there are errors. In such cases, you can easily hide the room to remove it from the tape.
To do this, you need to make a swipe gesture to the right on the room plate and click on the Hide button that appears. The chat will be hidden, and the corresponding caption will be displayed in the feed.
7. Look for people in the room
When there are only a few participants in the room, it is easy to find the right person by hand, just scrolling through the list. But if there are a lot of people, then the search function comes to the rescue.
To use it, click on the three dots while in the room, select Search Room and start typing the username.
8. Change interests
After registering, Clubhouse offers to choose several topics so that the algorithms adapt to your interests and form the feed more accurately. If your preferences have changed, the settings can be easily tweaked by adding or removing spheres.
Tap on your avatar, then on the gear icon.
Open Interests. Mark the topics you want and, conversely, uncheck those that are no longer of interest.
9. Choose the frequency of notifications
If you find it annoying that Clubhouse is constantly bombarding you with notifications, you don't have to turn them off completely. The application settings allow you to change the frequency of push notifications, so you just need to select the appropriate intensity. This option is also useful in the opposite situation, when you often miss interesting conversations.
Click on your profile photo on the home screen and then click on the gear icon. In the Notifications section, tap on the Frequency item and select one of the five options.
Here you can temporarily pause sending notifications by turning on the Pause Notifications toggle switch. Periods from one hour to a week are available.
10. Customize your hand color
A small tweak that comes in handy for anyone who likes to adjust skin tone for the emoji used. It will change the color of the hand icon in the Clubhouse interface.
To do this, just make a long tap on the palm icon and select the desired tone from the pop-up menu. The hand color in the interface will immediately change and the application will notify you accordingly.
