Let's agree right away that there are no taboos and strict prohibitions in makeup. This is an optional activity for fun. Therefore, you can do anything as long as it does not harm your health.

Nevertheless, we will discuss a few common tips that are unlikely to be useful.

1. Compress lips after applying lipstick

Beautiful picture: a woman uses lipstick, and then closes her lips and lightly rubs them together. This is a spectacular ritual that immediately pops into your head. But entertainment is perhaps the only advantage.

The formulas of modern long-lasting lipsticks are designed so that the product spreads easily, and then hardens and does not move anywhere else. Pressing and rubbing your lips out of habit can damage the hardened layer of lipstick and make it less resistant. So it is better to apply the product and let it fix without unnecessary body movements.

However, with a creamy unstable lipstick, you can act in the old fashioned way. Although in this case it will be much more accurate to distribute and shade it with a brush or finger.

2. Use saliva as a diluent

"Leningrad ink" is truly legendary: a laconic black case, brushes, which many still keep and use for combing eyelashes. To use the product, the manufacturer suggests moistening it with water. But Soviet women were often just salivating. Therefore, ink has received a second name - "spittoon" or "spittoon".

Eyeliners were used in a similar way - moisten with saliva and draw arrows. Moreover, the most ordinary stationery pencils were often used.

But saliva is not a friend to the eyes. It contains a variety of bacteria that are safe for the mouth, but potentially harmful to the rest of the mucous membranes. For example, Australian boxer Anthony Mundine "disinfected" a contact lens with saliva, and then ended up in the hospital with a serious infection that almost forced him to retire.

It is better to use special solutions as a diluent and humidifier. They will not harm health either (if individual reactions are excluded), and the consumer qualities of cosmetics will not spoil. Alternatively, boiled water. And let the drool continue to participate in digestion.

3. Apply blush to the center of the apples of the cheeks

Until recently, there was the only sure way to apply blush. You need to smile and poke with a brush evenly in the middle of the bulge on the cheek. It remains only to shade the resulting circle.

The advice is useless, because as soon as you stop smiling, the cheek "slides" down and creates the effect of a tired face. Apply blush to the top of the apple - and then you get a lifting effect.

What's more, the apple of the cheek isn't the only place for blush at all. They are applied to the highlighter area above the cheekbone, or they are draped, or they darken the bridge of the nose and cheeks to get the effect of a slightly burned face, refreshed on vacation.

It's worth trying different options and figuring out what is right for you.

4. Ignore the lower eyelid

The makeup was different over the years. But the lower eyelid is usually not very lucky. For him, there were two options: to bring the mucous membrane or simply ignore with the words "it is better not to touch, this makes the eyes smaller." The first option, by the way, can be observed by the hashtag #zhenabandit literally in all social networks. There you will find makeup and 90s outfits - usually getting into the image of a tough girlfriend of a dangerous type is very accurate. But back to the eyes.

Indeed, if you just bring the mucous membrane with a dark pencil, the eye may visually appear smaller. But in general, manipulations with the lower eyelid can produce the opposite effect. The size of the eye is read by the size of the colored circle around it. Therefore, if you do not limit yourself to the mucous membrane, but how to shade the shadows, you can get a very effective result. Focus on the length of the eyelashes or the border where the eyelid actually goes into the cheek: this place is easy to grope, the main thing is not to press hard.

5. Use only satin shadows

Shadows come in different textures. Globally speaking, it is matte and shiny. The second category is already divided into many options, from smooth satin with small reflective particles to glitters, consisting of large sequins.

Satin shadows have long been at the peak of popularity. They were also called pearlescent. They are easy to work with, they are quite hassle-free, and therefore are still popular. Some palettes of the luxury segment still contain only satin shades. But doing full eye makeup with them isn't always a good idea.

To understand why, it is enough to analyze what we want to get from makeup. If there are beautiful circles around the eyes - any shadows will do, you don't have to bother. But if you want to additionally work with the shape, you can't do without matte.

The same principles apply here as with contouring. We highlight some areas for visually greater volume and bulge. Others - darken to deepen or draw from scratch the depressions. So the eyes become more prominent and get the desired shape. But a natural shadow is never shiny. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to create a depression even with very dark satin.

That is why the simplest makeup scheme looks like this. Apply a dark matte finish to the outer corner of the upper eyelid, darken the fold and lower eyelid. On the movable top, we apply light satin (metallic, glitter, but also a light matte finish will do). Additionally, you can highlight the inner corners of the eyes with a highlighter. And it will already look spectacular - precisely because of the emphasis on the sculpture of the eye.

6. Preserve makeup

Quite a common situation: a woman starts experimenting with makeup as a teenager. And then he finds himself and his own style and follows it for years. Doesn't try new products, colors and trends.

Of course, there is nothing criminal in this. But the formulas of the products are being modified, new products and techniques appear that greatly simplify the make-up. The face changes over the years - and does not necessarily get worse. It may very well be the other way around: not everyone goes with children's swelling. These factors often lead to the fact that old approaches stop working, so it would be a mistake to completely abandon change.

7. Perceive makeup as inevitable

Over the years, the stereotype persists that a woman without makeup means ugly, unkempt, lazy, insert the right word yourself. At the same time, it is not very important how she looks without makeup, whether she wants to spend time applying it.

But here's the thing. It is not necessary to use cosmetics. Trying to satisfy the demands of others - too. Actually, the opposite is also true: if you want to make blue eyebrows and freckles from sequins, going to a cafe for breakfast, who will forbid you. Makeup is a tool, use it however you want. Or don't use it at all - it's up to you.
