A person who is in search of a business of his dreams does not know the answers to many questions, but he knows for sure that his business should, firstly, be loved, secondly, successful and, thirdly, profitable.
So, let's take a look at what needs to be done to create the business of your dreams that meets all three criteria.
1. For business to be loved, analyze your vacation
Think about what you are doing 90% of your free time from work, family and everyday life. And look in general, taking into account both active and passive rest.
For each person, rest is an individual set of things that brings him physical and emotional pleasure, and also relieves stress and fatigue after a hard day. For one, rest is playing sports, for another - watching films and TV series, for the third - online shopping. The list can be continued for a long time. For the majority, this reboot from everyday life and work comes down to a few regularly repeated activities.
It is important to analyze the activities that you really enjoy doing. Something that brings pleasure and improves mood. An activity that you are waiting for and that you dream of as a time of rest.
We do not consider such a vacation as a vacation at sea or traveling to other countries several times a year. We focus on daily activities.
Ask yourself questions:
- How do I rest?
- What do I like to do in my free time?
- What would I love to do if I had more free time?
For example, I got the following picture. In my free time I like to do my hobbies: painting, dancing, sports, reading. And with the advent of children, I began to devote a lot of time online shopping in search of children's clothing and other goods for children.
Likewise, make a list of your favorite activities. It shouldn't be too big, 5-10 points is enough.
My list is as follows: painting, dancing, sports, reading, online shopping.
2. For the business to be successful, solve your intangible problem
Analyze what everyday problems you face today. It is important that they are of an intangible nature, that is, the option “I don’t have a car, but if I did, it would be easier to live” does not fit.
By "everyday" I mean problems that can have a very large number of people similar to you in social status, age, tastes. By solving this problem for yourself, you can thereby solve it for many other people.
First of all, see if there is such a problem in the area of your favorite activities identified in point 1. For example, of all my hobbies, online shopping is a problem area. I have not found online stores of children's goods, similar to Western ones, that would meet all my requirements. Moreover, the exchange rate of the dollar and the euro increased and it became unprofitable to buy abroad. You can fix the situation by opening your own online store, which will also help many other mothers.
A lot of world famous masters of their craft came to their professional activities in a similar way, solving their problem.
Most psychologists do not even hide the fact that they began to study psychology in order to sort out their problems: family, emotional, or simply in the process of finding oneself. As a result of deep diving into the essence of your problem and looking for a way to solve it, you become an expert in this area and can share your experience and knowledge with others.
Many personal brands have been built on the same principle, which now have millions of followers on social networks and make good money on it.
Most of the fitness trainers who inspire people to exercise and healthy nutrition have had problems with being overweight and healthy themselves. Many people do it their own way, demonstrating the result before and after. Therefore, the problem in the area of your favorite activity can be solved not only by creating a product, but also by providing services.
3. To make your business profitable, look at your business as a consumer
Having identified your favorite business and a specific problem, dream about what your ideal business in this area would look like.
Imagine the picture as accurately as possible, see all the small details in your imagination. For example, what kind of office would you like to have (color and location of the building, size of windows, color and texture of walls, furniture, interior style, etc.). As a result, you should have a complete picture.
For more efficient work, put your thoughts on paper. Take a notebook and pencils, preferably colored, and sketch your ideal business. Visualize what you want to see in this project. It is imperative not to write, but to use the graphic recording or scribing method, which has become very popular.
The next step in creating a profitable business is to look at your business from the other side. How would you like to see it if you were a client. What attracts you to existing similar projects and what prompts you to make a purchase or use the service. Get away from the financial side. Imagine that a large investor is doing a project in the area in which you want to start a business. Do not limit yourself to any limits. Dream boldly!
If you are on the right track, then the circumstances themselves will develop in your favor, the right people and events will appear. Do you think that only you are looking for your business? It is also looking for you. And he will certainly find it if you take a step towards him.
How to understand if you have chosen your business
Recently, another truth was revealed to me. To find out your purpose, you need to remember it from childhood. Do not try to understand, but simply accept as fact that all children know who they want to become and what to do. But then they grow up and forget about their essence. And not everyone succeeds in remembering what they liked to do in childhood.
I have remembered. Another favorite pastime from childhood is dressing up dolls and sewing clothes for them. I also cut out pictures from magazines and pasted them into a notebook. It turned out to be my own fashion magazine, which I loved to create so much!
