Public perceptions of a successful career can prevent you from finding your true calling. Why you should forget about moving up and more often look around - the teacher and trainer Andrei Yakomaskin will tell.
A couple of years ago, a young man shared his career story with me:
I started working for the company as an office manager in the finance department. It seemed to me that this would be a great start for further development. The only condition for beginners was the fulfillment of the plan, and for those who wanted to climb higher - its overfulfillment. Over the next four years, I was promoted three times. It was different money, different bonuses, but still the same office work.
The next year, I received an offer from another company's marketing department. This direction has always been my secret passion. I went to the director, told about the proposal that had been received and offered a compromise: we have a marketing position. To which he replied: "You have a good future in finance, and our employees are growing up or rolling down, but not sideways."
I decided to stay in my previous position and after three years became the head of the finance department. Yes, this job does not bring me much pleasure, but I got what I wanted: career growth and good earnings. Isn't that what we should strive for?
Most people prefer to find happiness in money when they can't enjoy their work. On the other hand, this situation can be described as moving up the stairs leading down. We strive to succeed in what destroys our true calling potential.
But what if the stairs only have two directions? The answer is simple: go to the climbing wall.
Any path is only one of a million possible paths. Therefore, one must always remember that the path is only the path; if you feel that you do not like him, you must leave him at any cost.

To find something that can bring money and at the same time correspond to the vocation, you need not only to move up, but also to look around.
We are brought up on the belief that one thing should be enjoyable all our lives. Is it so? Remember Lomonosov, Leonardo da Vinci, Benjamin Franklin. Each of them tried a dozen professions before finding their true calling.
Albert Einstein also had a hidden talent: he loved to play the violin. During one social event, he performed as a guest musician. The young journalist did not recognize him and asked one of the guests: "Who is this virtuoso?" He was answered: "This is the great Einstein!" A day later, an article appeared in the newspaper about the outstanding violinist Albert Einstein, who amazed everyone with his playing.
In order not to kill your dreams of a vocation, you need to not be afraid to try new things and surround yourself with people who are ready to support your endeavors.
Follow your path and let people say whatever.
Dante Alighieri
I wish you success!
