There are a number of significant benefits to running in the morning. But how do you get yourself to hit the track in the early hours? In short, you need not leave yourself a choice. But there are also a few tricks that will greatly simplify the task.
In my case, not leaving myself a choice means the following: no matter how hard I try, running at other times is worse for me.
The main stimulus for my morning jogging was regularity.
In the morning, there is little that can be an excuse. I do not plan any other activity in the early hours, since due to my "owliness" I will not be able to do it adequately anyway. But running is just right.
Jogging in the morning is more likely to become regular.
Some may find it difficult to force themselves to get out of bed early. But this can be overcome if you remember that you don't need a brain for the first couple of hours. You can warm up with your eyes half-closed.
I usually feel like I'm only awake towards the middle of a run. But after that I get down to business with vigor and excellent mood.
Morning jogging is a wonderful activity that allows you to start the brain of even the most terry owl.
In addition, in the evening there will always be unfinished business and interesting events, or there will be banal fatigue that will not allow the planned run. As a result, conscience torments, and progress with each absenteeism becomes less noticeable.
There are fewer alternative activities in the morning so you can focus on your running results.
A lot of controversy revolves around whether it is worth forcing yourself to have breakfast. But running is definitely better with an empty stomach.
This was also a challenge when I ran day and night. I want to eat, but in the morning there is no such problem. At the same time, you don't have to force yourself to have breakfast after training - you rush to the plate of oatmeal as fast as you can!
For myself, I found a few more incentives to run in the morning.
One of them is laziness. I love the process of running, but not all of these activities before and after a run:
- change from home clothes to street clothes to go to the gym;
- collect the bag;
- change into sportswear in the fitness center;
- change back after training;
- change clothes again upon returning home;
- disassemble the bag.
Personally, this list terrifies me (a blanket, a cat and a movie are much more attractive).
Bonus Incentive # 1: Less Changing Clothes
In the morning, you can avoid one of the changes. When I wake up, I immediately put on a sports uniform under my clothes, so in the fitness center, all that remains is to take off my outerwear, and I'm ready.
Bonus Incentive # 2: Treat as an Advance
Trick number two is coffee. Just like that, my conscience would not allow me to drink coffee in the morning. With all the advantages of this drink, there is also harm from caffeine, so I never drank coffee for no particular reason. And running became such an occasion. A delicious cup of coffee with cream was my advance for my workout in the morning.
Additional incentive number 3: the ability to enjoy your favorite music regularly
There is another important aspect of jogging high - music. My experience has shown that it is not even necessary to select music with a suitable rhythm. The main thing is to get goosebumps from her. My choice:
I've been listening to this musician while jogging for a couple of months now. Since I can't listen to music as attentively at other times, I see the treadmill as a personal party with my favorite musician. And in the meantime, reflexes are being developed: now my legs themselves require running at these sounds.
You may also find additional incentives for you to run in the morning among the following:
- after a whole night without food, you will burn as much fat as possible while jogging;
- morning jogging fits into the principle “the most difficult first” - I ran my 5 km and is free all day;
- while jogging, you can think about the upcoming day and plan it in the best way;
- the hall is freer in the morning and the air is fresher;
- after jogging, you will take a shower, which will give an additional boost of vivacity;
- everyone will admire your willpower.:)
I won't argue that morning runs are better than evening runs. To train yourself to run in the morning is not an idea for one day. But experiments are the most interesting thing in life!
If you have your own morning workout tricks, share with me and the readers in the comments.:)
