We determine what you have achieved in the past year, and set goals for the next. It only takes half an hour.

We take three steps. First, we are making a list of our achievements this year. Second, we determine what we spent time on in the past year. Third, we set goals for the new year.

1. Making a list of achievements for the year

Write down 20 of your accomplishments. These can be performances at events, anniversaries, new skills. It may seem that 20 is too large a number. But when you start thinking about the past year, you will surely find that you have achieved more than you expected.

Our brain quickly forgets achievements, but remembers problems, unfinished business and mistakes. If you haven't logged your accomplishments during the year, check your calendar and social media posts to refresh your memory.

Each week, write down what you've accomplished, even if it's small victories.

2. Determine what you spent your time and attention on

Think about what areas of your life you spent the most time, attention and energy in the past year. Use the hot spot technique. These are areas of life that surround us every day. Hot spots are the mind, body, emotions, career, finances, relationships, entertainment.

More often than not, we devote time to one area and ignore others. For example, we put all our efforts into a career, but we do not have time to spend time with loved ones.

There is no right or wrong allocation of time and effort. If you spread your attention to all areas, it is not a fact that this will lead to success.

Therefore, think about whether you have neglected any area this year. If so, decide how you will balance your mind, body, emotions, career, finances, relationships, and leisure in the next year.

3. Setting goals for the next year

Pick three big goals you want to achieve by the end of next year. These should be goals, not just promises: clear, achievable, truly important to you.

When planning your week or day, keep your goals in mind.

For example, you want to lose weight and are going to arrange short fasting for this. At the beginning of the week, decide how much you will eat each day and when to fast.

Take another look at your hotspots to understand what is your priority and what needs to be paid more attention.
