How to remove the "ears" on the hips
How to remove the "ears" on the hips

Why do "ears" appear on the hips?

Because subcutaneous fat accumulates on the outside of the thighs. At the same time, "ears" do not necessarily indicate excess body weight: their appearance depends on how the adipose tissue is distributed.

In the fat cells of the body (adipocytes) there are several types of receptors,. Some start a cascade of reactions to break down lipids, while others interfere with this process. Due to the latter, fat accumulates in certain places - the so-called trap zones.

The number of these receptors is set genetically and largely depends on gender. In men, "traps" are more often located on the abdomen, in women, due to high estrogen, they are also located on the hips and buttocks.

However, variations are possible here. For example, if a woman has traps on her stomach and buttocks, but not on the outside of her thighs, she will not have “ears” even if she is overweight.

Is it possible to get rid of the "ears" on the hips?

Yes, by removing fat from the adipocytes on the outer thighs. You can use two methods for this:

  1. Total weight loss through diet and exercise. As the fat goes away, the ears will shrink or disappear altogether.
  2. Localized destruction of fat with the help of cosmetic procedures or surgery.

How to lose weight so that the "ears" on the hips go away faster?

The standard methods are diet and physical activity. It is impossible to make any part of the body lose weight faster. "Ears" gradually decrease as the percentage of fat decreases. This means that the faster you lose weight, the sooner you will see a smooth hip line.

But keep in mind that high-quality weight loss, when fat is gone, and not water, is a long process. Especially if you want to keep the results for a long time.

Reducing the diet by 500 kilocalories per day, a lot of vegetables and unsweetened fruits, cereals, lean meat and fish, avoiding sweet and starchy foods - such a diet will help you lose up to 1 kilogram per week. At the same time, you will not suffer from hunger, and then you will not gain back the pounds that have gone away.

In addition, physical activity is imperative. Exercise will help you burn more calories, make your body strong and fit, and create a hormonal environment for weight loss.

Long cardio sessions, from 30 to 60 minutes, are well suited: running, cycling, swimming, complexes of light exercises performed at an energetic pace.

Short (10–20 minutes) but very intense interval workouts also work great. Both of these regimens are good at spending calories and forcing the body to burn fat stores.

But what about special sets of exercises from the "ears" on the hips?

As a rule, such complexes consist of 5-10 exercises for pumping the hips and buttocks. Often as part of lunges and squats, gluteal bridges, leg abduction back and to the side.

Exercises for the thighs and buttocks help to strengthen the muscles, which provides a tighter and more beautiful silhouette, but they burn few calories and therefore are not very effective in the fight against "ears". Especially if this is your only activity for the whole day.

Long-term cardio or HIIT will be much more effective than gentle hip exercises.

When I lose weight, will the "ears" on the hips go away for sure?

It all depends on your body structure and the amount of body fat. Because some women are trapped in the upper thighs, even after significant weight loss, deposits can remain there.

As a result, you either have to lose weight to a really small percentage of fat, which can be harmful to women's health, or accept and love your body as it is.

Are there any other methods besides injection and surgery?

We'll take a look at popular methods for burning fat locally and find out if they really work.

Training in cling film

The only effect of such exposure is the loss of more water in sweat. This can reduce the volume, but it will do nothing with the body fat.

Massage

Classic manual massage can speed up the removal of fluid from the tissues and thereby slightly reduce the volume of the thighs, but it will not affect the fat reserves. Therefore, the effect of this method will be small and temporary.

There is evidence that a deep hardware LPG massage with a combination of vacuum and massage rollers can lead to a positive result - 15 sessions twice a week reduce the girth of the hips by about 3 centimeters. However, it can be assumed that the effect is also due to the loss of water and will disappear soon after the termination of the procedures.

Lipolytic creams

There are small controlled studies that support the effects of aminophylline and yohimbe, and caffeine combined with forskolin to locally break down lipids in traps. In the long term, creams containing these components can accelerate fat burning in problem areas if combined with diet and exercise.

However, this area is poorly understood, and research into commercial products raises concerns. Perhaps the effect of creams is too high for the successful sale of goods. In addition, there are doubts that the active components of such funds are generally able to penetrate into the deep layers of tissues and get to fat.

In any case, you can try creams containing the above substances - there will be no harm from this. Just don't forget about basic measures in the form of healthy nutrition and exercise.

What about injections?

The procedure is called injection lipolysis. The problem area is anesthetized, after which an injection of a lipolytic is given - this is the name for drugs containing deoxycholic acid (Kybella) and sometimes phosphatidylcholine. Both of these substances are present in the human body.

The injected drug begins to destroy the fat cells around the injection site, after which the area loses in volume. Swelling occurs immediately after the injection and may persist for up to 2–4 weeks. Also, bruising, redness and an area that feels hard may appear in the affected area. However, these effects pass quickly.

Typically, at least two to four treatments are required, 4-6 weeks apart. Upon reaching the desired result, the effect of the injections persists for a long time. Of course, if you do not gain weight, then the fat layer on the thighs will increase and the "ears" will appear again.

The cost of one procedure depends on the specific drug and clinic and starts from 2, 5 thousand rubles.

Injections are contraindicated for the following conditions and health problems:

  • allergies to eggs or legumes;
  • local infection or skin problems;
  • taking anticoagulants;
  • suppressed immunity;
  • hormone problems, including hypothyroidism and polycystic ovary syndrome;
  • pregnancy and lactation.

Anything without injections?

There is an option without injections, incisions and anesthesia - cryolipolysis, or CoolSculpting. This procedure is carried out using a special apparatus, which is fixed on the problem area. The vacuum sucks the skin over the fatty deposits into the applicator and destroys the fat cells under the influence of low temperature.

At the same time, the cold does not damage the skin and underlying muscles, so after the procedure, you can immediately go home.

The next day, some soreness, similar to post-workout soreness, redness, bruising, swelling, and tenderness is likely. But all this goes away within a few weeks. In general, the risk of complications is minimal - less than 1%.

Cryolipolysis reduces body fat in the affected area by 20%. However, the effect will not be quick - it will take about 4-6 months for the body to remove the destroyed cells. The result of cryolipolysis is long-lasting, but only if you do not gain excess weight - in this case, new fat cells will replace the eliminated ones and you will grow "ears" again.

The cost of cryolipolysis starts from 25 thousand rubles. Contraindications to the procedure include:

  • diseases associated with the influence of low temperatures (cryoglobulinemia, cold urticaria, paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria);
  • phlebeurysm;
  • dermatitis and other skin lesions at the site of exposure.

Can't you go faster?

The fastest results are obtained by liposuction - surgical removal of fatty deposits. But compared to other methods, it:

  • requires thorough preparation, including the delivery of numerous tests;
  • has a rehabilitation period of up to 2 months with the wearing of compression underwear;
  • in 21.7% of cases it causes minor complications, in 0.38% - serious.

The cost of one zone starts from 15 thousand rubles. But before deciding on such an intervention, seriously think about whether you hate fat deposits on the hips and whether you are ready to risk your health.
