Usually, when looking for information, we just add what we found to bookmarks or create an entry in notes with a link. The disadvantages of both approaches are obvious. In the first case, over time, it becomes unclear from the bookmarks what these links are and why you saved them. In the second, there is an explanation, but the link itself is difficult to find and is located outside the browser.

Context Note helps to save links and notes to them

A small extension, Context Note, combines both concepts and solves their problems. It allows you to save selected text from pages, links to the original and accompany all this with your own notes. It works as follows.

After installing the Context Note, when you select text on any page, a button appears, clicking on which, it is easy to save the selected fragment. A link is automatically added to it. You can also provide context and tags for easier searching.

Thanks to the built-in editor, notes can be made more than complete. It has all the formatting features, including lists and code embedding, as well as adding pictures and links.

All saved notes are displayed in the drop-down menu of the extension. The list appears by clicking on the Context Note icon. At the same time, if you go to any page with records, the text you have selected will be highlighted on it.

For the convenience of working with the saved information, the Context Note window can be expanded. As an export option, you can save notes as a JSON file.

The extension is completely free and contains no ads. It is currently only available for Google Chrome.
