Family Library lets you share paid content on Google Play

Russian users got the opportunity to share content purchased from the Play Store with six close people for free.

When you have a large family, in which everyone is actively using gadgets, then buying applications, games and movies can have a very negative impact on the overall budget. A great way to save money is Family Library. This function appeared abroad in the summer, and now it has become available in Russia.

Starting a Family Library is very easy. Go to the "Play Store" application, open the menu, select "Account", then - the "Family" item and click on "Create Family Library". This can be done only if you are over 18 years old. Also note that you cannot add users under the age of 13 to the family group.

After authorization, the purchased content will be automatically shared between family members. You can also manually open or close sharing for any purchase. To do this, you need to go to the page of the application, game or movie and select the appropriate option. By the way, no one forbids inviting friends to a family group. This option will save even more, since content can be discounted.

Group members can pay for purchases from their personal cards or from a common account. In the second case, the administrator will receive a receipt on the completion of each transaction by mail. If there are children in the group, then you can set up parental controls by hiding certain applications in the library from them.

It is worth noting that not everything will be able to be shared. This primarily applies to music, press and books. Content from other categories may also be subject to bans. However, if you cannot add individual songs and albums to Family Library, then you can subscribe to a general Google Play Music subscription. It will cost you 239 rubles.
