The new gadget of the Chinese company will compete with smart speakers from well-known manufacturers.
Together with the Mi Mix 2S smartphone and the Mi Gaming Laptop, Xiaomi has introduced a miniature artificial intelligence speaker that, at a price of only $ 27, is able to compete with similar solutions from Google, Amazon and Apple.
As the name suggests, the Mi AI Mini Speaker is a smaller version of last year's Xiaomi Mi AI Speaker. Portable acoustics in a milky white case with rounded edges, equipped with a two-watt speaker and four high-sensitivity microphones. The gadget is powered by a quad-core processor with a frequency of 1, 2 GHz and has wireless Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules.
To sync with Mi AI Mini Speaker, you need an iOS or Android smartphone. The speaker is controlled using voice commands (so far only in Chinese) and four buttons in the center of the top panel. There is also an LED indicator showing the status of the device. But the gadget is powered from the mains: the manufacturer did not provide for the built-in battery, despite the miniature size and portable form factor.
In addition to playing music, podcasts and audiobooks, the speaker can control various Xiaomi smart home devices, and also allows you to know the weather, listen to news, create reminders, set an alarm and perform other similar commands.
The novelty will go on sale on April 3 at a price of $ 27. As always, first in China.
