A man who, even in quarantine, tried to personally select all the products in the store, took a chance and bought them with delivery. And not in an ordinary supermarket, but at the online aggregator of farm products "". See what and how you can buy there for almost 2,500 rubles, and at the end of the article look for a promo code for 500 rubles for your first order.
How I usually buy groceries
You can order groceries from many Moscow stores online, but I prefer to shop on my own, even if it means traveling to a different area. And I have several reasons for this.
First of all, to me it is important to see what I buy … Yes, I know that reputable delivery services use trained people to pick up orders. But I want to decide for myself what will be on my table.
Another disadvantage of ordering products on the Internet - I have there is no way to take exactly as much as I needif the product is sold by weight. If I need one onion or two carrots, I have to order a kilogram of these vegetables. And I’m unlikely to get exactly 1,000 grams of both.
It often happens that there is a product on the Internet showcase, but in fact it is not … So, you still have to go to the store near your home. Online supermarkets usually offer a replacement if an item is out of stock and you have already paid for the order. It is not a fact that you will like this replacement. I had an experience when I added trout and several types of sweets to the basket, paid for the order - and it turned out that the desserts were over. Instead, I got some more trout.
And also, as a person working remotely, I glad to any opportunity to leave the house … In quarantine, it was the event of the week at all - to walk to the nearest supermarket chain and at the same time see nature, which has sharply cleared. The habit remains: every weekend I go to the store. A set of groceries for a week for a family of two usually costs a little less than 3,000 rubles.
How I decided to try something new
A popular alternative to regular supermarket foods is farm products. They are traditionally considered the best in quality because they are manufactured to particularly stringent standards. For example, reputable suppliers do not use hazardous fertilizers, artificial colors, or growth accelerators. And the animals in their farms are kept in the most comfortable conditions.
It's time to check if the farm products are as good as they are said to be. For this, I made an order at "". The assortment of this service is extensive - from vegetables to frozen semi-finished products, which are definitely not found on the shelves of chain supermarkets. To choose from this variety, it is worth reading, and by the way, they are not only enthusiastic, and this is even good. This means that the administration of the service does not have the habit of erasing comments.
Each product has the name of its manufacturer, and he, in turn, has a separate page on the site with quality certificates and videos from its own production. It turns out that it's nice to understand that the products for your table are not produced by an unnamed employee of a factory or greenhouse, but by a person with a name and a photograph. It remains to be seen how well he is doing his job.
How the service works (spoiler: unexpected)
For those who would like to test the service, but do not know what to choose, Eat Derevenskoe offers eight of the most popular products, which can be ordered in one click for 1,869 rubles. But I went the other way.
Usually supermarket buyers have a lot of complaints about meat and milk. It makes sense to compare them with the farm ones: so in my order there were three types of meat and the same amount of dairy products. And also tomatoes and eggs. A set of 8 items cost about 2,500 rubles - including delivery of 249 rubles. Yes, it is more expensive than in a supermarket, but the products must be different in quality, so we will check this.
The first thing that surprised me when placing an order was that you can't just pick and choose everything you want and get it today and tomorrow. The nearest delivery is the next day if you order today by 11:40 am. Some products are only available on certain days, as farmers prepare them specifically for demand. But you do not run the risk of getting what is stale in the warehouse. And there is no warehouse: there is only a service distribution shop, where orders are formed.
I made an order on Thursday, and he came to me on Sunday morning - precisely because individual positions from it were prepared only on Friday and Saturday. By the way, I arrived not in several packages, but in a large cardboard box, which, it seems, I (or rather, a cat) have already found application. Inside, in addition to shopping, there was a list of products with an indication of the exact weight and the price recalculated in connection with this.
What I ordered and what I received
Tomatoes
are quite expensive - 200 rubles (for a share - 160) per kilogram, so I expected something outstanding from them. And for good reason: these vegetables did not disappoint. They are large (five pieces per kilogram, which could hardly fit into the container), juicy, with dense pulp and very fragrant. It's even a pity to let them in a salad: you want to eat such fruits whole.
Eggs
This product contains protein and vitamin D, which are often in short supply in our latitudes, so I try to eat eggs several times a week - boiled or in the form of an omelet in the oven. (150 rubles per ten) are stored for 25 days - just enough packaging if you eat them 2-3 times a week.
These eggs conquered me with a dense white and a bright yolk, which, moreover, did not crumble when cut. Two eggs, three slices of pink tomato and a humble buttered sandwich - I think I've found my perfect breakfast.
Dairy products
While scientists argue about whether adults need milk and how useful it is, I can't imagine my life without cottage cheese, I drink chicory with milk and occasionally allow myself a ciabatta with butter. So all these products ended up in my order.
I will never taste the cottage cheese of one dairy plant in the capital from another. But (235 rubles per 500 grams) I know for sure: it has some kind of especially soft, creamy taste. And it has such a consistency that you can eat even without sour cream, which is unexpected for me. Shelf life is only four days: this is the price for naturalness.
I usually don't drink pure milk: it doesn't taste good. for 93 rubles I was surprised: it has a bright taste, it is pleasant and does not evoke associations with crushed chalk, like some brands of milk in a tetrapak. By the way, about packaging: usually milk poured into cardboard boxes can be stored for months. Shelf life from farmer Vadim Roshka in a plastic bottle is only five days. This is normal, although during this time I will not drink so much chicory. Well, if the milk turns sour in the fridge, it will simply end its life cycle in a pancake batter. Nothing will be lost!
Butter is not a product that can and should be eaten often, especially since it usually tastes bad. About (210 rubles per 200 grams), I will not say so: moderately salty, very creamy, pleasant yellow color. I also really liked the packaging - like a giant candy. Butter can be stored for 35 days - it's scary to imagine how many sandwiches you can make.
Meat products
I have some prejudice against sausages, wieners and sausages: there is an opinion that they are made from anything except meat. Judging by the taste of individual brands, this is often true. I ordered it (535 rubles per 600 grams) to gloomily be convinced that I was right - or to be pleasantly surprised. The second option turned out to be correct: it seems that these are the sausages I ate as a child - pale pink, with a delicate taste, hearty. And what is especially nice - they do not fall apart during cooking, and the skin is separated without effort.
(490 rubles for 380 grams) did not disappoint either: moderately salty and not very greasy. The only thing that caused criticism (and not one of me, judging by the reviews) was too dense and tough skin, which, unlike sausages, was extremely reluctant to separate from the meat.
Chicken fillet surprised with its appearance. Usually the breast that I buy for baking has a different color - pale, even slightly blue in places. At (495 rubles per 700 grams), a pronounced pale pink color with a slight yellowness (this is normal: this shade arises due to a certain diet of the bird) and practically no veins. The only pity is that you won't be able to cook much from such a package: tender breast baked with cream without a side dish was enough for only two dinners.
How will I buy products next
The experiment did not disappoint: Eat Derevenskoye's farm products are really tasty and I liked much more than what I regularly buy in the store. In addition, the assortment here is unusual and somewhat unique: for example, I have never met anywhere else or.
Compliance with sanitary rules in the workplace does not cause concern to me. Apparently, the service makes serious demands on suppliers, and all significant certificates can be seen right on the farmers' pages. And if you don't like something, you can and should leave a review so that the farmer can take action. In social networks, companies even periodically publish videos from production workshops.
But there are also features that not everyone will like. Firstly, the availability of some goods only on certain days is not very convenient, while other services compete in the speed of delivery and the count goes for minutes. However, if you understand that this is dictated by concern for freshness, the problem is perceived differently. Secondly, the matter, of course, is the price, although it is clear what it consists of. Once a month, you can please yourself and loved ones with sausage for almost 500 rubles per package or chicken fillet at about the same cost. But on a regular basis, it turns out not quite available. However, promotional codes and various bonuses from "Eat Derevenskoye" smooth this situation. Perhaps thanks to this, over time, there will be much more farm products in my diet.
"" Is not only an unusual assortment and guaranteed quality. There is also a loyalty program here. So, for each order you receive bonuses that can be used to pay up to 15% of the cost of goods. By the way, about payment: it is possible not only with cards or cash, but also with a deposit on the site. And you can also get bonuses by: share the promo code from your personal account, and your friend will receive a discount of 500 rubles for the first order, and you will receive the same amount to the bonus account. By the way, you can get a discount on your first order right now. Use a promo code LIFEHACKER, and your first grocery set will be 500 rubles cheaper.
