In recent years, email applications have made small revolutions only once - about a year ago, when the Mailbox application became a viral hit, gathering hundreds of thousands of users in queues around the world. Google today unveiled Inbox - a service that is designed to revolutionize the experience of organizing and working with letters.

It's worth noting right away that the Internet giant has chosen the same concept as its main competitor, combining an email program and a task manager. Usually the latter go through the following cycle on your device:

But, as experience has shown, Mailbox is a very successful one and, probably, one of the few task managers who are actually useful and stay on the smartphone for more than a week. Moreover, for many users around the world, it is he who has been the main application for effective work with mail for a year already.

Google has created a great alternative that outperforms Dropbox in every way.

This is a Google service, and this fact is important, because it is he who will soon meet the users of smartphones on Android, and the fact that the company's native applications are stable and easy to use should not be disputed. On iOS, the situation is not so obvious, but Inbox will definitely find its users there too.

The main feature of Inbox lies in special smart algorithms that organize all letters from your inbox, automatically determining where you have messages with purchase confirmation, where are registration letters for a future flight, and where are promotions.

All content and content of your emails becomes more interactive. If an email address is specified, you will immediately see a map in the Inbox, if a document is attached, you will have instant access to it, if the flight number is indicated inside, you will see the status of your flight.

Due to this principle of display, only a few letters fit on one screen, and in the desktop version there is even more empty space. Such a presentation of mail will be convenient for an ordinary user, for whom five or six letters per day is the limit. For users who use email as their main tool of work, Inbox is not at all suitable for now. The rest of the application is very, very convenient. It is not replete with unnecessary information - it displays exactly what you expect to see, what is important at the moment.

The design of the program fully complies with the Material Design guidelines. The interface elements are minimalistic, and the traditional red button in the lower right corner is responsible for creating a new letter or reminder and displaying the users with whom you recently corresponded.

Mail management capabilities are very similar to those of Mailbox. After completing the task or reading the letter, you simply press the Done button. Once your emails are sorted into categories, you can do the same for all emails at once. If you need a letter only after a few days, create a reminder for a certain date, and the message will appear in your inbox again at the appointed time. Inbox you can also import the keyboard shortcuts you are used to, which can greatly simplify your work.

A similar functionality to the above is already implemented in the Molto app, but the brakes and synchronization problems do not make it a worthy competitor. Inbox has very few shortcomings, and they will be noticeable only by the so-called power user.

The app is available for download now for both iOS and Android, but you won't be able to use it until you receive an invitation, which is not available anywhere yet. So, if you don't know any Google employees, you will most likely be able to start using Inbox only in a few weeks. However, you can also leave a request for an invite by sending a message with the request to [email protected].

Combining an email client with a task manager was a good idea, with Google Now - all the more so, which means that Inbox will definitely succeed.
