There are many homemade recipes for these bars on the internet, and we decided to test some of them. It turns out very tasty and really looks like the original.

Ingredients:

  • 5 pitted dates;
  • 1½ cups instant oatmeal
  • 1 cup peanut butter (preferably homemade)
  • 1/2 cup peanuts
  • 2 tablespoons of flax seeds
  • 2 tablespoons of honey;
  • ½ cup chopped chocolate;
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar syrup or honey.

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, place oatmeal and peanuts on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake until golden brown (12-15 minutes). Take it out of the oven and cool it down.

In a food processor, grind dates, honey and peanut butter until smooth. Put it in a bowl, add chilled oatmeal with peanuts, flax seeds and chocolate chips. Mix everything well until a crumbly homogeneous mass is obtained and add 3 tablespoons of syrup or honey there. Mix everything well again, put it in a rectangular shape made of foil or in a container, tamp it, send it to the refrigerator for at least an hour and cut the frozen mass into pieces of a convenient size for you.

Since we take these bars with us on long runs or bike rides, a small square for one bite was chosen as the best option. It is most convenient to wrap it in foil.

Ingredients:

  • 1¼ cups of air rice balls (as in breakfast cereals, preferably smaller);
  • 1 cup instant oatmeal
  • 2 tablespoons of flax seeds
  • ¼ cups of chopped dried fruits (raisins, cherries, cranberries, bananas - your choice);
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts or seeds (we used a mixture of sunflower seeds and cashews)
  • ⅓ cups of honey;
  • 1 ripe banana, mashed in mashed potatoes
  • ¼ cups of peanut butter;
  • a pinch of vanillin;
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon.

Preparation

In a large bowl, combine oatmeal, rice balls, flaxseed, nut mixture, and dried fruit. Place the banana puree, peanut butter, cinnamon, vanillin and honey in a small saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring thoroughly.

As soon as the mass becomes homogeneous, pour it into a bowl with the dry mixture and mix thoroughly. Put the resulting mass in a rectangular foil shape or in a container, tamp it well and send it to the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Then cut into small portions, wrap in foil or put in an airtight bag with a zip lock and send it back to the refrigerator.

We decided to leave a part as it is, and cover another part with chocolate icing on top. It turned out even tastier.;)
