Studio Alvar Carto, which prints and distributes stylish posters with maps of different locations around the world, has launched a web-based tool to create beautiful wallpapers for smartphones. On the site, you can select any point on the Earth, and the service will generate a picture in the color and resolution you need.

First, enter the city and country whose map you want to place on the image. If you do not know which place to specify, then just click Random - the service will choose for you.

Then you need to choose the color in which the picture will be executed: black, dark and light gray or orange. In all variants, except for light gray, dark tones prevail. Therefore, if your phone has an OLED screen, then the battery with such wallpaper will drain more slowly.

In the Resolution item, select your device or simply manually specify the desired image resolution by clicking on Custom resolution. After that, it remains to click on the blue Generate button, and the image will be ready. Alvar Carto's servers can be overloaded, so you may have to press the button several times.

You can also order a real poster with a map of your chosen place on the site. To do this, just click Buy a map poster at the bottom left. Choose style, color, size and decals and place your order. The cost is from 39 to 69 euros, but delivery is free.
