Checker Plus for Gmail is a Chrome extension that gives you full access to all the current mail functions directly from its own interface.
The Chrome browser implements some of the basic functions of Gmail mail management, thanks to its native integrated notification system, as well as through a simple Google Mail Checker extension with an unread message counter. However, this, of course, is not enough for comfortable work with e-mail.
Imagine that instead of the usual envelope icon extension that redirects the user to the Gmail interface, there is a full-fledged mail management tool that completely eliminates the need to open the mail tab.
This functionality is implemented by a tool called Checker Plus for Gmail - an extension for Chrome that gives full access to all relevant functions of working with mail directly from its own interface.
At first, the Checker Plus settings menu is a little shocking. To say that there are many of them is to be very modest. However, such powerful customization allows you to fine-tune every aspect of the extension's work, making it as close as possible to your own needs and preferences.
The main idea of Checker Plus is to bring the simplicity of working with mail to the level of a chat, when one pop-up window provides the user with everything to interact with the interlocutor. This also includes displaying the sender's photo in notifications for instant identification of the person who wrote.
Another cool feature, which, unfortunately, is not available in Russian "out of the box" - voice reading of incoming letters, available in the background.
The extension settings allow you to specify the labels, the letters in which will be announced in Checker Plus, and for each label it is possible to create a unique, different from the others, notification. In practice, this makes it possible to find out about the type and importance of the incoming message before you look at the header of the letter and its sender.
With some version of Chrome, it works quite successfully in the background, including as a process, after closing the browser. The same feature is implemented in Checkrer Plus - you can close the browser, but notifications with an extended management interface will still appear in the system.
Checker Plus automatically detects all used Gmail accounts and supports multiple accounts.
The extension is distributed absolutely free of charge, and only some (very specific) options become available in it after a symbolic donation to the developer.
By the way, about the developer. It is clear that, when it comes to accessing the mailbox (and especially the work one), the issue of the reliability of the service creator is more acute than ever. In this case, the extension is authored by Jason Savard, an independent developer specializing in Chrome extensions. He has a lot of products in the Chrome Web Store and a very decent audience of users, among whom, so far, have not been noticed complaining about data theft / leakage.
