If you care about your pet's nutrition and are ready to spend an extra hour preparing homemade treats for him, then these fish cookies are the perfect alternative to store-bought cat snacks. We warn you right away: cookies are not a substitute for complete food and are a delicacy that you can reward your pet with during training. In addition, before starting cooking, take into account all the peculiarities of your pet's diet. Now let's go!
The recipe is based on canned fish. We have pink salmon, but you can replace it with tuna or salmon, closed only in its own juice!
We shift the fish together with the liquid into a convenient container and beat well with a blender. Combine the resulting gruel with one egg and a couple of glasses of whole grain flour.
You may need more flour, depending on its moisture content and the amount of liquid in the jar. The finished dough should be slightly sticky and soft. And yes, already at this stage you will have to drive away the cat.
For those who are ready to get really confused, we suggest making molds for cutting dough in the shape of fish with your own hands. Cut the aluminum can into strips approximately 2 cm wide. Bend the center of each strip with a loop and fold its edges at the base. Gather the edges together, step back a centimeter from them and make another fold, which will become the tail fin. Cut off excess aluminum and secure the folds of the fins with a strip of tape.
Roll out the dough 0.5 cm thick and cut with a mold (or with a regular knife).
Spread the fish on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 180 ° C for 20 minutes.
It is better to store the finished treat in a glass jar or an airtight container at room temperature.
Ingredients:
- 240 g of canned fish (in its own juice);
- 240 g whole grain flour
- 1 egg.
Preparation
- Purée the fish with a blender right along with the juice from the jar.
- Add whole grain flour and egg, stir. If the dough is too sticky, add more flour.
- Roll out the dough 0.5 cm thick. Cut into small pieces and bake at 180 ° C for 20 minutes.
