The Ezbook 2 has a matte 14-inch display with IPS-matrix and Full HD resolution and there is no competitor for less than 21 thousand rubles.
Screen
At the current rate, a laptop with a high-quality display costs more than 21 thousand rubles and has unnecessary functionality that you have to overpay for. Jumper Ezbook 2 will not only not hit the wallet, but also will not ruin the student's eyes.
The viewing angles of the laptop display fully comply with the specifications: they are approaching 178 degrees, practically no color inversion is observed.
The brightness varies within reasonable limits: the minimum level is suitable only for working in complete darkness, and the maximum will be sufficient under bright artificial light. For a very sunny day, the brightness margin is a bit lacking.
Housing, assembly
The gorgeous screen is not the only killer feature of the device. Among the advantages of the device is the case itself. It's inspired by the MacBook, with even a backlit logo on the lid. True, the body is made of rather soft plastic.
The keyboard is very good: full-sized, with good, soft key travel. Above the standard F1 - F12, Pause, Print Screen, Insert, Delete … And the power button. Power next to Backspace and Delete is a big mistake.
The assembly is of high quality, without backlash. With very active typing, the keyboard flexes a little, but this is not very embarrassing. Noticeable if you look closely, but no more.
The touchpad is made of plastic. It supports standard Windows 10 gestures and has two buttons. Pressing is distinct, the move is large enough - accidents are excluded.
Plastic allowed to reduce the weight to 1, 15 kg. However, the filling also played a role here.
Hardware capabilities
The Ezbook 2 has a lightweight tablet motherboard. It has an Atom x5-Z8300 processor, 4 GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 64 GB of permanent memory.
The processor is the youngest, the cheapest in the line. It has four cores up to 1.84 GHz, 2 MB of cache and tiny heat dissipation. In addition, it includes Intel HD Graphics with DirectX 11.2 support.
The performance of the x5 line is close to the Intel Core i3 of previous generations. Intel's budget notebook solutions like Celeron or Pentium perform at the same level or slightly better. But even if the Atom loses in terms of processor power, its performance is pulled out by a faster video chip.
Slow read-only memory limits hardware capabilities. Instead of a classic hard drive, the Ezbook 2 uses a 64 GB eMMC drive soldered to the motherboard. So you can increase the size of disk storage only by using USB flash drives connected via USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports, or microSD memory cards up to 128 GB.
In addition to these interfaces, Jumper's creation has a charging port (round plug 2.5 mm), microHDMI for video output to a monitor and a headphone output. The device is equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi (single band) modules. There is a 1.3 megapixel camera, but it is enough for Skype.
On the bottom panel there are two speaker grilles. The sound is quite quiet (you can watch the film only in relative silence), but without wheezing and distortion.
Performance
Bringing tests with "parrots" is pointless: everyone is interested in real performance. It is at a level sufficient for basic educational tasks.
You can work freely in Microsoft Office, edit low-resolution files in Photoshop, or view a variety of content in a browser. Chrome with 15-25 tabs and extensions works without lags.
Ezbook 2 was able to scroll through a 4K video file with additional codecs, open an assembly of 15 parts in KOMPAS-3D, and perform calculations in Wolfram Mathematica. In Microsoft Visual C ++ (Builder) and Python 3.0, you can actively work on small projects.
You can even run a complex physics simulation package such as ANSYS or COMSOL if you want to. There are enough resources to draw an object, scatter boundary conditions and describe the necessary variables. Calculation is possible, but it will take considerable time.
You can also play if you want. The laptop pulls World of Tanks, however, with minimal graphics and a resolution less than Full HD. Heroes V and the entire Half-Life 2 line work well. Something more modern device is not capable of.
Battery life
The Jumper Ezbook 2 uses a 10,000 mAh non-removable battery. This is not much, but if you wish, the laptop can be disassembled and a different battery installed.
Battery life is highly dependent on the brightness of the backlight and the tasks being performed. With Wi-Fi on and minimum screen backlighting, the battery is completely discharged in 7 hours of leisurely surfing and working in Word. If you watch a Full HD video on YouTube at the same brightness, the laptop will turn off after 4 hours.
At maximum brightness, the same scenario will set the battery to zero in 2.5 hours. Like 3D games. Surfing with a bright display will take no more than 4-6 hours.
Operating system
Another nice thing: the device has preinstalled and activated Windows 10. There are no unnecessary applications that slow down the operation of the device.
Operating system out of the box in English. Russian is set in the settings. After downloading the package, you can set it as the main one. There are no problems with this.
conclusions
Despite a lot of shortcomings, the Jumper Ezbook 2 is a rather interesting device with a specific target audience and purpose. Sufficient performance, good screen, low cost - what else do you need for a school laptop?
If you look closely, you will not find analogues for (12,500 rubles). Laptops with a comfortable for long-term work and safe for developing vision display cost no less.
