More recently, to study a foreign language, we needed to go to courses or hire a teacher, buy a set of study guides and dictionaries, and select special audio and video materials. Today, all of these tools can replace (or complement) the mobile apps installed on your phone. In them you will find explanatory explanations, examples, texts, tests, and pronunciation exercises. And if you consider that many of these programs are also free, then there is simply no reason not to pay close attention to them.
Duolingo - Between Activities
We have already written about this wonderful project, but we consider it worthy of re-mentioning. Competent organization of classes, perfectly selected materials, a playful form of learning make the process of learning a language really pleasant and not burdensome. It will take no more than 10 minutes to complete each lesson, so you can easily learn new knowledge on the subway, in line, during a break and in any other free period of time. And the most amazing thing is that such a wonderful product is completely free.
Memrise - learning new words by watering
When learning a foreign language, the constant replenishment of the vocabulary plays a huge role. The Memrise app does just that. The method of interval repetition helps to better master the material, when at certain intervals you are asked to repeat the words already learned for their final fixation in memory. This uses a simple and intuitive visualization: each theme is a flower that you must periodically water to make it grow.
(How to) Pronounce, Listen & Speak - what about your pronunciation?
In some languages, the meaning of words is directly related to their sound, so incorrect pronunciation can negate your entire rich vocabulary and extensive knowledge of grammar. Therefore, take note of this application, which will show you how this or that phrase sounds correctly in the language you need.
For Android users, the Listen & Speak program may come in handy. Not only is it designed to teach you correct pronunciation, but it can also train your listening ability.
Busuu - help and real communication with people
The main feature of this course is help in learning the language from real people, the same users of the application. Considering that today there are more than 40 million of them, the program quite easily selects a mentor for you, who is a native speaker of the language you are studying, but teaches, in turn, yours. This way you can help each other learn. A word of caution, however, is that while the app itself is free, you will have to pay for some of the features you need using in-house purchases.

HelloTalk Language Exchange - putting our knowledge to the test
Practice is the only accurate assessment of all your theoretical knowledge. If you can accurately reproduce all the grammatical features of the language in a notebook at home, but with live communication are not able to squeeze out words from yourself, then your knowledge is worthless. Therefore, we use the HelloTalk Language Exchange mobile application, which is a kind of social network for language learners. Live communication, exchange of news and photos will help you put into practice the acquired skills and learn some language nuances that are not written about in textbooks.
