Exactly a year ago, at the presentation of the iPhone X, Apple also showed a wireless charger for this gadget - the AirPower accessory. Since then, the release of the device has been constantly postponed, and now, apparently, the time has come to completely bury the project.

After updating the official Apple website during the presentation of the iPhone Xs and Apple Watch 4, all references to AirPower were removed from there, except for one - in the AirPods headphone section. This page states that the optional wireless earbuds can be charged wirelessly using AirPower, but this accessory is "not available at this time." In this case, most likely, we are talking about the AirPods wireless charging case, and not about the stand.

Prior to that, the company's website indicated that the start of sales of AirPower is expected in 2018, and now the device is unlikely to see the light of day. Recall that Apple's wireless charging was supposed to receive an important function - charging two devices at the same time and wirelessly. Most likely, this function was not fully implemented by the company's engineers.

The new iPhone Xs, Xs Max and Xr support wireless charging and can work with third-party accessories from manufacturers such as Belkin and Logitech. According to rumors, the Xs and Xs Max have an antenna power of about 10W for wireless battery charging, while the Xr has 7.5W, like the iPhone X and iPhone 8/8 Plus.
