Scrolling through the feed on Instagram, in the recommended photos among supercars, beauties and other popular content, you can sometimes see tattooed men with perfectly groomed beards. Or trendy girls with ice cream cones in their hands. Often in the frame with all the listed characters there are puppies and other cute animals. I decided to find out who they are and where they came from.

With the spread of social networks, a window has opened to the domestic man in the street, to which I count myself, and what is there - a whole portal to the world of all sorts of hobbies, trends and trends. Now it is already difficult to seriously surprise us with something. Fashion and attitudes are constantly changing, no, no, yes, there will be some new concept, some kind of philosophy or way of life, if you like.

It used to be somehow easier. Young people were divided into punks, rappers and metalheads, and the adherent of each of the subcultures could be easily identified by their appearance and attributes. Nowadays, the situation is completely different, although, as it seems to me, everything revolves in a circle, and once fashionable tendencies come to us again, acquiring new meaning.

Like the fashion of wearing a beard. In ancient times, shaving was considered the privilege of the ruling elite; ordinary people wore a beard. Yes, and in terms of technology, shaving has become truly comfortable relatively recently, but scraping your cheeks to a shine - first of all, the process itself - is pleasant to few, let's be frank. And if for someone a three-day stubble is the height of permissibility, then the average Lamberjack will not be able to remember the last time he held a razor in his hands. Who it is is our number one item on the list of today's trends.

Against the background of the forest and with an ax

And this is by no means a lumberjack or a maniac, not a hero of a reality show or a worker. In most cases, Lamberjacks, they are also Lambersexuals or just Lamberts, are bartenders in expensive establishments, designers, actors, startup owners and successful IT managers. These people are often in public, being objects of increased attention and objects of female dreams.

The original is twee. Not tween or twin. This is a new youth culture, on which great hopes are pinned. Moreover, the word "culture" is key here: the representatives of this movement (as they themselves call it) are people who are not alien to everything refined and beautiful. They condemn bullies and love Wes Anderson's films, believe in good and that it will prevail. Such heroes of "The Catcher in the Rye", descended from the pages of the book into today's reality, loving comfort and lace napkins on the table during tea drinking.

Mark Spitz, music journalist, writer and playwright, attributes to the core values of Twi culture:

  • a normal attitude that we all inevitably grow up;
  • the need to do what you love in life, whatever it may be;
  • special attitude and even love for their own oddities and imperfections.

Mickey Mouse is the first American Twie icon, a kind guy in shorts, with a squeaky voice and a desire to lend a helping hand to the whole world. Its whole essence is boundless goodness and faith in the best.

Today's Twi are lovers of owl pillows and bird prints. They love vintage and handicrafts, old bicycles, accordions and ukuleles. “That being said, Twi is not at all the same as hipsters,” says Spitz. - Hipsters can hang out, drink and smoke. Twi will prefer to stay at home, put on their favorite cardigan and start writing another note in their diary or blog to the songs of The Zombies or Galaxie 500."

Where there is twi, there is peace. Their habitats are folk festivals and lectures dedicated to environmental protection. It seems that these guys decided to turn again to true human values: goodness and harmony with nature. But looking at the world not through the prism of drugs and free love, as hippies once did.

Yes, they look very unusual: women who look like heroines from Woody Allen's films. Grown-up looking, but as if forever remained in childhood.

American actress and musician Zooey Deschanel, who starred in the movie "500 Days of Summer", is considered a striking example of Twi. The film, by the way, is not bad, although "Moon Kingdom" and "Fantastic Mr. Fox" are considered to be real twi-films.

What can you say about these mysterious personalities? Most often these are metrosexual-looking guys who are thoughtfully sipping raff coffee from a glass with a green mermaid on the logo, sitting on a bench in a park or waiting for the next train at a subway station. Often immersed in reading some bestseller, they periodically take their eyes off a book or an expensive smartphone to give the smile of a young god to another girl who drew attention to them. True four-legged friends often add advantages to their boundless cuteness: charming bobies or eared cats of a rare European breed.

Here are some of the distinctive features of these guys:

  • From the sight of a guy and his pet, you can shed a tear of affection. Most likely, it will be a pug, beagle or sharpei.
  • If the dog is small, then its owner will not hesitate to take the opportunity to pick it up, casually showing the pumped up biceps.
  • He is the owner of the body of a young god from ancient Greek myths.
  • A big fan of ripped jeans and white T-shirts without prints.
  • There are always several pairs of cozy house slippers in his hallway.
  • He goes jogging with his dog.
  • He spends no less on the maintenance of the dog than on himself.
  • Most likely, the color of the leash is in harmony with his windbreaker.
  • Despite the external charm, the style of his communication with the opposite sex is often emphatically indifferent.
