Visionary coach Rustam Kunafin changed his eating habits to improve his health. He shares his successful experience with the readers of Lifehacker under the heading "BEFORE and AFTER".
BEFORE
I'm a happy person. I do what I like.
I am interested in anything that can increase the level of energy and integrity of me as a person. And the physical body is far from the last element in this system.
For five years now, I have been walking at full steam towards a healthier lifestyle and nutrition in particular. He consistently excluded tobacco, alcohol, sausages, semi-finished products, sweets, and overly fatty foods from his life.
I cannot say that my health worries me. I have been following nutrition for a long time, so I did not expect to find fundamentally new knowledge for me in the book. However, the "China Study" was in my hands in time and place.
BOOK
The book gave me the answer to the question of how you need to change your eating habits in order to qualitatively improve your health. It is necessary to completely exclude animal food from the diet, or rather animal proteins, and switch to whole plant foods.
It is important for me that the benefits of veganism (or any other approach to nutrition) are not justified by vega fanatics, resorting to mysticism and esoterics, but by scientists and nutritionists without ideological intentions. In such matters, I rely on detailed open research, where everything is proven and cross-checked. Campbell has done impressive research on this topic. His work convinced me that animal protein is harmful to the life of the body.
AFTER
To my habits - not to eat fatty, sweet, semi-finished foods - I added one more. I have eliminated all animal proteins from my diet. Replacing them with plant-based proteins turned out to be quite simple.
I am also impressed by the idea that you can ensure the vital functions of your body without interrupting the lives of other living beings. The solution to a purely mercantile task - the transition to a healthier diet - resonated perfectly with my values.
I introduced the knowledge from "China Research" in the Personal Growth Workshop "RQ". One of my Living Practices is devoted to the topic of healthy eating, where I share thoughts, including from this book. (By the way, read more about healthy eating and the steps to a healthy lifestyle in general in mine.)
I am glad that the Chinese Study has finally been published in Russian.
P. S. As you probably saw, I said little about the content and design of the book, because there are so many people here and there are so many opinions. But I think I was able to convey to you one simple thing: if you are ready to improve your health and want to switch to healthier food, then this book will help you with this.
With wishes of health and happiness, visionary coach Rustam Kunafin.
