It's no secret that fish is a very healthy dish. Fish contains proteins, healthy fats, and important minerals. And in this article we will show you one of the easiest ways to cook the most tender fish with a golden crust on steam, but without the help of a double boiler.
The method we have prepared for you is too simple not to try. You can use this recipe to cook a fish carcass, fillet, or steak.
The authors of the original version of this article experimented with fish species such as tilapia, hake, river and sea bass, cod, halibut, salmon, sturgeon, and in all cases they got a delicious dish.
Step 1
The first place to start is to draw out moisture from the fish using paper towels. This step is especially important if you are cooking frozen fish, which by default has a lot of water.
Step 2
Pour two tablespoons of vegetable oil into the skillet. You can use both cast iron pans and non-stick pans.
But vegetable oil must be selected so that it can withstand high temperatures. For these purposes, peanut, rapeseed and corn are best suited. But you should not use olive oil, because it burns at low temperatures.
Heat oil over medium heat for about three minutes.
Step 3
Take four carcasses, steak or fish fillets (about 2-3 cm thick and weighing about 180 grams), season with salt and pepper, put in a pan. Leave it on for two minutes.
Step 4
Then turn the fish over with the browned side up and cover the pan tightly with a lid (or foil if there is no lid) to keep the steam from escaping from the fish. Remove cookware from heat and allow fish to steam until cooked. It will take no more than 10 minutes.
The fish is ready. Enjoy.
