It is not at all necessary to break loose and fly to foreign beaches in order to fully relax.
The time for vacations begins, and your colleagues have probably already buzzed all your ears about where they are going to go and how they will light up there. Don't be discouraged if you have nothing to brag about in return: there is plenty to do at home, too. We will tell you how to organize everything so that there is no time for boredom.
1. Watch TV shows
What could be better than lying under the covers with your laptop in your arms and watching TV shows? Obviously, lying in an embrace with a laptop on the beach in Nice. But since we are not considering this option, it remains to follow the plot twists and turns of your favorite projects at home.
For example, review the entire "" before embarking on a fresh eighth season. And then grab some "Vikings" or "Dregs". And in general there are a lot of TV shows on any topic - zombies, mysticism, detective stories, melodramas.
2. Watch movies
Everything is like with serials, only films take up less time, and it can then be devoted to other activities. Revisit the epic from if you are a fan of superheroics. Tickle your nerves with some non-trivial horror movie. Check out a romantic comedy. Or even remember the black and white classics if you are an esthete.
3. Play computer games
Games can be long-lasting and provide an unforgettable experience. So if you don't know what to do in the real world, it's time to go to the virtual one. Shoot monsters and enemy soldiers in shooters, lead your armies into battle in strategies, or build architectural masterpieces in sandbox games. To enjoy gaming, you don't need to have top-end hardware - and there are fun ones for low-power machines, but.
4. Read books
Reading broadens your horizons and pumps your memory, concentration and imagination. Books are entertaining but also thought-provoking. Refer to quality fiction literature. Science fiction, for example. Or the horrors of Stephen King. Or thrillers with twisted plots. The choice is limitless. You can still read some volumes about self-improvement and honing professional skills, but this is no longer a vacation, but a refresher course is obtained.
5. Meditate
Learn to meditate. It is interesting, helps to concentrate, or, conversely, to relax, and also streamlines thoughts. There are a wide variety of meditation techniques. Classical meditation requires some patience and the ability to sit still without being distracted by external stimuli. If you are a fidget, there are some for you.
6. Get enough sleep
Seriously, go to bed. And sleep through the whole vacation - there is nothing wrong with that. You can sleep peacefully even until noon - is this not happiness. Especially when on weekdays you have such a schedule that you can only dream of sleep. Well, if it's just boring to sleep, you can try keeping a dream diary. Or dive into.
7. Go freelance
Do you feel how your vacation is going and you can't do anything about the annoyance of wasted time? Take up freelancing. Find yourself a job or a part-time job. And the problem of how to spend this stupid vacation will disappear by itself - you simply will not have it. Rather than sitting and doing all sorts of nonsense like origami or puzzles on a viscous fine day, it's better to start making money. What for? Then to let them down on some other nonsense.
8. Master programming
if there is nothing to do. First, it's interesting. Secondly, it is useful, because, knowing how to program, you can automate many of the tedious things that you often come across at work. Third, programming can help you find a better job. It will open up new horizons, allow you to get a more promising profession and all that. In short, take a self-study guide, and you will be provided with a lesson for the near future.
9. Update your resume
Have you mastered the programming in a day? Fine. Now it's time to write about it on your resume. Vacation is a good time to update your resume across all resources. Maybe you don't have to go back to your job because you suddenly get hired by Google.
10. Listen to music
Usually we are always accompanied by music - on the way to work, when playing sports, during household chores and so on. But we perceive it only as an insignificant background and cannot really appreciate it. When you have free time, listening to music becomes completely different: the melodies come to the fore, because nothing distracts you. It's time to find your favorite songs or discover new genres.
11. Keep a diary
Many will say: what's the point when you sit at home and nothing happens? There is still a meaning if you bring in not events, but thoughts. This is a very interesting activity. Describe how you feel, what you think about often, and what you want in the future. And a couple of years later, open your notes, read and shed a niggardly tear of nostalgia.
12. Take up writing
Even better than a diary. You can look for guides on how to become a writer. Or try to walk the path. But to be honest, hardly any eminent writers like Victor Hugo or Ernest Hemingway have read the manuals. They just wrote - because they had the ability to do so. Write something and you.
13. Look at the stars through a telescope
The starry sky is a very beautiful thing. Celestial bodies, nebulae, rings of Saturn and craters on the Moon are definitely worth seeing in person, and not in pictures. True, it is desirable that you live somewhere outside the city. Buying a telescope is quite expensive. But if you get involved in astronomy, then it will not let go. How can selfies with the pyramids in the background compare to the pictures of the Great Red Spot on Jupiter?
14. Go in for sports
Vacation is a great time to lose weight or build muscle. Sign up for a gym and spend your time not only with pleasure, but also with benefit. Ideally, you should have an athletic friend next to you who will inspire you by example and insure you on the bench press. Well, if you don't want to go to the rocking chair, you can try.
15. Set up a challenge
Think of a test for yourself. Ideally, it should make sense and make you a little better. For example, you can try doing 100 push-ups a day. Or read one book a day. Yes, even mastering touch typing on the keyboard is still a challenge.
16. Learn to cook
The ability to cook something tasty is an extremely valuable skill, no matter what gender you are. If you’re quite a bit of a white-handed, start with omelets, dumplings, or cutlets. And more or less experienced chefs can diversify their table quite well by mastering the preparation of myroton, bouillabaisse, paella and other difficult to pronounce dishes. And our selection of recipes will always come to the rescue.
17. Assemble the puzzle
Buy multiple boxes with the biggest jigsaw puzzles and collect amazing pictures. Or you can try Zen jigsaw puzzles, which are a solid white sheet if you are really hardcore. Collected? Now glue, varnish and hang in the living room. Or shuffle the parts and reassemble.
18. Play solitaire games
Solitaire games train attentiveness, logical thinking and patience. And you don't need to buy anything for them - a deck of cards and knowledge of the rules are enough. Of course, you can also collect solitaire games on a computer or tablet screen. But there is no romance in this. Only tactile sensations, only real cards.
19. Build the constructor
Today you can find constructors for every taste and color. Star Wars fans enjoy assembling the Millennium Falcons, racing enthusiasts collect cars, anime fans - huge fighting robots. Although, to be honest, it is too boring to cope with the constructor according to the attached instructions and put the result on the shelf. Try to build something of your own. For example, a working clock, a smartphone holder, or a chess set.
20. Clean up your home
Usually you come home from work squeezed like a lemon, look at the dust lumps in the corner and say to yourself: "Maybe sometime later?" This "later" came. Take it seriously, throw away the things you never need, and scrub all the shiny surfaces in your home. Daredevils can take an extremely risky step … wash the windows. And a chandelier.
21. Put your computer in order
You have absolutely nothing to do? Reinstall Windows. Want to experiment? Install Linux. Then tell everyone at work how cool you are. Remove the rubble of documents, photos, movies, music and other goodness accumulated on the disk. And when you get back to work, you will examine the slender rows of your folders and mentally smile.
22. Make repairs
You have a lot of free time, money, if you refused to travel to Turkey with Egypt, is also saved. So spend them on finishing the apartment, so that it would not be disgusting to spend your holidays in it in the future. The main thing is not to get carried away. Otherwise, you may simply not meet it. It’s not very pleasant to go back to work, knowing that the houses are waiting for half-edged walls.
23. Start planting flowers
House flowers are the same favorite pets, only there are less troubles with them. And they don't stain the floor. Meanwhile, contemplation of the greenery in the apartment greatly calms the nerves. Plants decorate the interior, create a cozy atmosphere and produce a little oxygen. And if you are not completely sure that you will be able to properly care for your green pets, try it - they are generally on the side of how they are treated.
24. Learn cool magic tricks
Whatever. Tricks with cards, solving a Rubik's cube in 10 seconds (you can use your feet, blindfolded, in the dark), juggling … Then there will be something to surprise your friends with.
25. Stick on the Internet
Let everyone who tells you about Internet addiction burn with fire. The web is interesting. Life is always in full swing here. Check what you have new there in the VKontakte and Facebook feed. Or check out new videos on YouTube. Join the holivar somewhere in the comments. You can even become a troll for a while!
26. Dedicate yourself to yoga
You can also practice yoga at home. But it is still better to look for a good sports center and comprehend the oriental art of calming the body and mind under the supervision of an instructor. Perhaps you will become slimmer, stronger, or even learn to sleep on nails.
27. Call your loved ones on Skype
If all of your friends have gone abroad somewhere, you can arrange with them to arrange video tours for you. Let them launch Skype, hang a smartphone with a camera in front of their neck and take you around Paris or Zurich. Such excursions are especially pleasant if friends are exhausted from the heat somewhere in Egypt, and you are drinking a cold cocktail on the couch.
28. Discover board games
There is just a sea of board games. Are you an adherent of the classics? Chess, checkers, backgammon and dominoes are at your service. Do you want something newer? Monopoly, Dungeons and Dragons, Vampire: The Masquerade and their many clones await you. Fans of epic and pathos can try their hand at such a monster as Warhammer 40,000. But be careful - it will drag on. Then you will spend mountains of money on miniatures and scare those around you with shouts: "For the Emperor!"
29. Solve crosswords
Crosswords, scanwords and chainwords improve intelligence and erudition, train memory and the ability to process information. No internet searches - just strain your brains. You can choose themed crosswords to strengthen your knowledge in areas close to you, or take puzzles on general topics. You will know many things like the capital of the state of Tuvalu or rare species of flying foxes - you will be able to show your intellect in front of the opposite sex.
30. Quit smoking
Vacation is the right time to quit this addiction. When you're busy with work, the constant stress sometimes just forces you to smoke another cigarette. But during the rest period, the reasons for smoking become much less. Engage yourself in useful activities, sports exercises, go for a walk in the park. These tricks will keep you from wanting to poison yourself with tobacco.
31. Do nothing at all
The Dutch invented their own philosophy called. Briefly, it can be described as follows: if there is nothing to do, then do nothing. Follow it, and you will not have to painfully think: "What to do?"
32. Go to the movies
Watching movies at home is fine, but it's much better to do it on the big screen. Popcorn crunches around, cola pours, lights go out, credits begin … Beauty. It is good to visit the cinema in a large company, so that after watching, choking with delight, share your impressions. But solo trips have their own charm. Especially if you pick up the time when the hall is almost empty and it seems that everything that happens on the screen is just for you.
33. Go to the theater, philharmonic or opera
A string concert with music authored by Mozart cannot be compared with any audio recordings. And the live performance of the actors on the stage is even more interesting than the scenes from the world of cinema recorded from no one knows from which take. Here it is, intellectual entertainment. This is not some kind of Marvel.
34. Learn to dance
Sign up for a dance. It is exciting and fashionable. You can, of course, learn to dance by jumping in front of a monitor screen on which a video tutorial from YouTube is spinning. But it’s better to go to dance classes. And call a friend or soul mate with you. Well, if it doesn't work out, it remains to be hoped that a partner will be picked up for you on the spot.
35. Take care of your appearance
Rather than staying at home and overgrowing with stubble (or running your hair), go to a beauty salon. Or. Get a manicure, go to a spa, massage, epilation, cryomassage, after all! This applies not only to the fair sex, but also to men - everyone has the right to be beautiful. Return to work from vacation, and all your colleagues will gasp at how prettier you are.
36. Learn to shoot
Sitting in shooters is a good pastime. But the real pleasure of shooting can only be obtained with the weapon that you hold in your hands. Visit the shooting range, shoot at targets. For those who prefer live targets, there is such an interesting thing as airsoft. And there, maybe, go hunters.
37. Go on a bike trip
A long tour around the outskirts of your city will allow you to unwind, see something new, enjoy the fresh wind blowing your face. Well, you will pump up your legs with a bonus.
38. Go fishing
Is there any body of water near your city? Fine! Is it in an acceptable condition, no chemical waste is dumped there, and there are no mutant fish? It will do. Buy a spinning rod and go fishing. Lucky you catch yourself something for dinner. No luck - just sit pleasantly by the fire, enjoying nature.
39. Explore your hometown
You don't have to travel abroad to travel. You can study in which you live. Look, maybe there are guided tours of its historical sites. Or there are museums nearby that are worth seeing. Finally, for lovers of noisy parties, there is such a thing as bar hopping. Visit all the bars in the area and try to get home on foot. Another option is to go on a trip around the region or visit the nearby villages and villages.
40. Go on a barbecue with friends
And finally, the classics. What could be more enjoyable than eating fresh meat in the open air in pleasant company? The main thing is to choose a place where you will not bother anyone and will not get. At worst, you can have a mini-picnic in the park - without lighting a fire and loud music, of course. And don't forget to clean up after yourself.
What options can you suggest?
