REVIEW: The Richest Man in Babylon by George Clayson

"The Richest Man in Babylon" is a book that is simply created for those who want to master the basics of dealing with money, but do not really like to read financial literature. The author talks about the basic rules of using and saving money.

It would seem, what's new? And the novelty lies in the fact that he does this, conducting the entire storyline through Ancient Babylon, and the protagonists of his story are Babylonian merchants, artisans, "bankers" and other people. The book is written in simple language and reads very interesting, but sometimes it seems that the rules the author is talking about are banal and slightly childish. For example:

  • money loves money
  • gold loves when it works

It seems that we already know all this, although we do not always follow. But, nevertheless, the book also contains interesting tips that many will like. Here is one of them:

You will have to pay for the risk with your own capital. Carefully study the investment prospect, paying attention to the guarantee of the return of the initial investment. Don't be fooled by romantic dreams of rapidly growing wealth.

This book is worth your attention for two reasons. The first is informative, and the second is that this book, with its interesting storyline, will brighten up a couple of good evenings with it!
