The time when there are the most people in the hall is quite predictable. Usually it is Monday night. But every day there will be fewer people in the simulator. However, it all depends on the location and schedule of your sports center.

For many clubs, you can find out the popular time quite accurately using Google Maps. This is what my club attendance looks like:

This picture is quite true: at the beginning of the week at 6-7 pm sometimes there is not a single free track. But at 7 in the morning and at lunchtime, no more than five people run. Plus the air is fresh, and there is almost no one in the shower. In the middle of the week and on weekends, the picture changes a little, and it is better not to come at lunchtime. But evenings on Saturday and Sunday are quite comfortable to visit.

If Google doesn't have data about your gym, check out similar organizations nearby. Or ask the administrator of the fitness center for statistics of visits.

Try to revise your schedule based on an estimate of the gym attendance. You may find it even more enjoyable to exercise at other times of the day. In any case, variety is always beneficial for those who want to achieve sports goals.

Don't just stand in line

If it is customary in your gym to sign up for simulators, do not be lazy to create a schedule for yourself that will ensure the most effective workout without downtime.

If this is not done, you will have to strategically approach your training.

  1. While you wait for the treadmill to clear, pedal the exercise bike.
  2. Don't forget about the alternatives: running on an ellipsoid is no worse than a warm-up on a treadmill.
  3. If the machine is especially popular, do planks or push-ups nearby.
  4. Choose machines that are suitable for all-round body work, not just the same type of exercise.

If you have borrowed your favorite simulator and are ready to work on it for at least 45 minutes in a row, do not forget that this is ineffective. Better to do a short but more intense approach and move on to training other muscles. So the result will be better, and the time in the hall will fly by faster.

Be considerate and polite. If someone has been waiting for a long time for you to free the machine, give up. And if you, in turn, are already tired of waiting, just ask to give in to you. Considering that rest is needed between approaches, it is most convenient to agree to work in pairs. So you can substitute for each other and do not waste time waiting.

If all of this sounds too tedious for you, you can practice at home. You don't have to buy expensive machines; there are alternatives available and a variety of bodyweight exercises. Here are just a few options:

  3. These exercises should be done as soon as you wake up. They will give a powerful boost of energy for the whole day.
  4. Yoga is great strength training. You can do it with the help of video tutorials.
  5. Do planks to strengthen not only your abs, but your entire body. Fortunately, there are a lot of options.
  6. Find an exercise routine that doesn't require additional equipment.
  7. Even in the office, you can train on the job.
